Boris Johnson defends charging foreign NHS staff fees for service even though 'they saved my life'

I'm pretty sure it is 'done' to all UK workers abroad, I don't think we get free health care all over the world just because we do in the UK.
If they work in healthcare, they do. Which is the subject being highlighted. In many countries you end up with as good, if not better, care than the countries citizens. Its basic respect for those who but their lives in danger to give us healthcare.

decency has deserted this country. It's gone down the sewer along with its politics. Thieves and liars are now valued more than nurses, careers and doctors.

that what happens when you vote in a pernicious racist gov.

That isn't the criteria though, it never has been. I think you are letting your dislike for one person cloud your judgement.

Do you think people that don't pay TAX and NI shouldn't have free access to the NHS?
No i'm not, I don't dislike Boris. If i'm honest i'm not up to speed with this news item,i thought in general any one with a currant EHIC card is eligible for 'free' healthcare here.
Saying that any worker putting themselves on the line to help our sick should get 'free' treatment.
Personally i would happily kick any one milking our welfare system out of this land.

Tripe. Racism running rife. You imagine how loud he would scream if this were done to UK workers, in another country.
I agree with you - that if they work in the health service they should either not have to pay or get a good discount.

Once again though this is not racism - it’s red tape in dealing with non nationals - not actual racism.

I hate the term racism being banded about for things that are not actually racist - it waters the term down in terms of real actual racism.

I Believe we have had this discussion before.

What's tripe exactly? do you disagree with my opinion? What part? you made yourself clear or any point at all. It's equivalent to saying "bollocks" and walking off as if that means anything.

The post you quote tells the whole story

This is intrinsically about racism. The race of those who work in the NHS dictates the availability of the healthcare they are offered.
It's another racist, by an overtly racist PM.

Okay you think it's tripe that NHS workers coming here should be exempt from paying for treatment. Got it. Seems harsh but that's your opinion.
Yes of course they should. You expect someone to save your life, but would deny them the same treatment? If the NHS were entirely made up of foreign born workers, they should still receive the same care they offer.

Sorry man - but I don’t agree with you

had he singled out a race for it then yes but he has not.

This is about non nationals - not race. demonstrably.

A lot of those non nationals could be any colour or creed - in the same way that many of the NHS workers that are entitled to get free healthcare are many colours and creeds.

This is simply inter-country red tape - it is not racism.

Let me be clear - I’m not disagreeing with your point here - merely the language you are using to put it across.

in the same way that in another thread someone telling a satirical joke about a politician was not racist - even tho that joke was about a black politician - the punchline of the joke had nothing to do with race - just a politician and the (possibly incorrect) perception of her being a bit dim witted.

but before you said it was tripe and refused to expand on that when i asked you to, referring me to your original post. so you're completely unclear on this. It's both triple and not tripe. That's exactly why I asked you to do so.
