Evening all,

Just taken delivery of a Nebox, my very first TC mod.

Being brand new to TC I am not sure if I am having problems because I am not set up right and would like some advice.

I have the 0.15Ohm Ni200 SSOCC coil in (although it is reading at 0.33Ohms) with a 70vg40pg juice. I have set the settings at 35W 490F and the Vape is really cool. I was expecting a bit more warmth tbh. I have found that I have to draw pretty hard and fast on it or I get a burnt taste! Surely this is not right?? If I bump up the Watts it also burns. What am I doing wrong I though TC was meant to stop burning.

All help appreciated ;-)

Good luck finding the right settings for you.. I bought one , last weekend and had it set up in the shop.. couldnt get over the taste and clouds.. was amazing! Only thing was it leaked twice on me, the guy tried sorting it both times but in the end I just got my money back, glad it happened while I was still in the shop but I was very sad as I loved the feel of it in my hand and the flavour coming from the vape. Ive got my fingers crossed for you

No leaking yet (will no start pissing out everywhere no doubt!!!!!) I am finding the flavour isn't as good as my Sigelei 30w mini with a Subtank!!! Must be a settings I am not getting quite right yet.

I had one for a few weeks was brilliant whilst it lasted but the tank cracked with pink lemonade so now it's just an expensive paper weight

This is why it is burning - you have a massive static resistance which is confusing the mod's temp calculation. The mod is underestimating the temp change by a factor of ~2 - i.e. what it thinks is 400F is actually about 750F in real life, which is far too high. With a static resistance like this, you are essentially vaping Ni200 in power mode.

There is a dodgy contact somewhere - try unscrewing and remounting, try a new coil. If it is not reading close to the advertised resistance at room temperature, something is wrong.

Also, you know about locking resistance at room temperature right?

So I unscrewed coil gave it a good wipe down and remounted. If by "locking resistance" you mean firing with coil out so it reads 99.9 then putting back in and selecting new load or old load then yes I did this. I now have a resistance of 0.23 Ohms and it is working much better so thank you. Still not reading 0.15 as advertised but I have new coils coming and also NiFe30 from stealthvape so I can use the RBA deck. Hopefully this will sort it all out.

Googling around, it seems the Nebox locks the resistance automatically if/when you confirm "new load". 0.23 is still weirdly off the mark for a .15 coil. I'd have thought it should be closer than that. Do you have a new coil you can try?

DJLsb Vapes found some serious problems with the Nebox in TC testing from 29.15 of this video. It seems to regulate temperature when the coil is sufficiently juiced but does not temperature protect when the cotton is dry/you run out of juice.

And a clarification following some criticism of his testing methods.

I don't know if they are relevant to your situation, just pointing out that there may be some issues with the Nebox in TC mode.
