coil, cannot get 1.8 ohm????

Coiling does affect ohms... ask a sparky how and why... I don't know

bit rought and ready response sorry

The ohm's goes up the longer the wire and the thinner it is when you buy straight up kanthal, the whole bigger the coils are or more of them people get hung up on its just increases the amount of wire used its all about the how much you use not the coil diameter, these ready mades the middle none shiny bit is the length required of that guage to be the ohm on the sticker on the pack so should come out at that ohm no mater what you wrap that bit around. the outer parts are none resistance and are irrelevant.

You could make these go lower buy putting the darker/center part of the wire in your terminating screws but not the other way round like your experiecing just wondering if you got a bad batch or something.

Sorry again rough and ready multi tasking here badly hope that helps.

You could always do a dual coil setup to reduce the ohms depending on how much room you got.

Practice makes perfect so were told, when I started doing coils for the eternity I must have used a good metre of kanthal before I worked out the diameter / wraps.

All good bro, appreciate the input, checked a few of them and they are all reading 3.1 lol seems like a bad batch, thanks for explaining the bit about silver outer bits being irrelevant, as that really cleared things up, now i can just concentrate on the inner section....

According to that I straightened out a 2.4 ohm coil from a old kanger clearo and noticed the inner section of my 1.8ohms is about 5mm more longer than the inner section of the 2.4 the grey wire in-between the shiny silver legs so clearly they must be higher ohm....

roballan explained it well to me... I tend to just do guesstimate builds but it seems to work. .. I don't use any non res wire... just me kanthal. ..

The wire could be longer and give a lower resistance if it is thicker wire.

All of the 1.8 premade wires I got from Stealthvape were bang on 1.8 (at least those I have used so far), it may be worth contacting them about it if all of yours are consistently over. Could simply be a case of the wrong label on the bag.

no worries hope you get it sorted, sorry if previous post sounded arsey not intended to be, I'm all over the place this evening, hey it was only a mater of three/four weeks ago I was trying to wrap my head around this stuff, lots to take in, but worth it :)

cheers

Two things will give lower ohms:

1) Less wire.
2) Lower resistance wire (bigger gauge wire)

Think of a tunnel:

If it is a small gauge tunnel the water is passed through under pressure - greater resistance. Think hose pipes here.

If the tunnel is longer the more less pressure will be produced from the power source.

Okay, checked with multimeter and wires are showing up bang on 1.8 so no issue there my old tool was on way out so was giving fcuked up readings... Regarding not able to get nice warm vape and vapour which I used to on various other 1.8 clearos and build the only thing different in this set up is the 2.5mm voodoo wool i think its too thick and its holding more juice so heat is not sufficient to burn it all, i am assuming, going to try good old cotton and see what happens :D

Okay tried good old cotton and bammmmmm, so much vapour and the taste of the juice giaaaddd daiimmmmm, chefs vapour ftw :D

Thanks for the help everyone need to try thinner wick and its all good to go :D
