Coronavirus: 'Infection here for many years to come'

The beeb are a mouthpiece for the moneyed establishment IMO. Relatively subtle compared to Fox ,etc. Mostly the stuff not covered, elision, sometimes "mistakes".

But I think they pissed BJ and his mates off before the election and are now seeing blowback from that.

I would say yes there are people who are immune as there are people who have a natural immunity to TB (I'm one of them) 1million people died of TB and 10 million people were infected in 2018 but COVID is new so no one really knows as there is no test to prove the figures on a big scale. I've been offered an antibody test for COVID and refused it, as I see it as pointless if I was immune or had the t cells for COVID I still could still spread the infection on my hands etc and if I had indeed had it, it would give me a false sense of security and i would drop my guard with PPE

This was on the BBC website ............... but I still thought it was interesting .............. ;)

This has been said before and seems like a vital point in fighting the disease in infected people but i don't see much emphasis placed on it which seems odd.

In many viral infections, it is not the virus itself that leads to death, but the acute inflammatory response brought on by the body's immune system.

Bats can control this. So, while they may be infected, they do not show visible signs of disease.

That’s why Dexamethasone is effective for some hospitalised patients: it works as an anti-inflammatory and suppresses the immune system’s over-reaction to the virus.
