Digital scale for mixing

i did find a thread somewhere on the net where a guy had collated a huge list of concentrate densities. they didn't vary much though. ill see if i can find it
Ha! See, there's someone more anal than me! Comforting to know ... I would probably just weigh one concentrate at 50/50 and another 100PG, don't think I have any 100VG flavours. Flavouring is the only thing I want to be super accurate with.
Thanks, but don't waste time on it ... :)

:) ha ha, guilty!

heres a couple of links for you to check out.

i use this calculator https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/new-calculator-to-try.480587/

pretty comprehensive, includes and inventory manager and the ability to tweak values of all ingredients and works out cost of mixes etc

below is a link to mixing by weight, just above the method header is a couple of links to different manufacturer's specific gravity

enjoy!

Just mixed up my base ... that was sooo much quicker! Avoiding the syringe with VG and nicotine concentrate is a godsend. :)

Still can't see this working for me on smaller quantities. Not being difficult, but adding say 8ml from a bottle through the dripper would take forever, much quicker to whip the drip top off and use a syringe. Or am I missing something, like a need to be super super accurate?

Am I right to think you'd want to use one method or the other (mls or gms) and not a combination?

I am happy with the accuracy from measuring by syringe, so my main interest in switching to weight would be to save time. I'm seeing some potential but I'm not sold yet.

whip the top off and pour straight in

you will soon find you learn pour control really well.

I would recommend mixing by weight for anyone.

I would also recommend that you get a set of scales who's max weight is higher than the amounts you are mixing - at some point you will want to mix more.

Does the weight of concentrate vary much, is this a concern? I mean, concentrates vary in concentration, don't they? Most are in 100PG, but others are 50/50. Have you test weighed a selection of concentrates to confirm that they're all the same weight per ml?

Jeez, I can get anal on a Sunday morning ...

Weigh a known measurement of each concentrate dude .. its a pain in the ring .. but you only have to do it once for each concentrate

so get say a 10ml measuring cylinder or syringe .. put a receptacle on the scales and weigh how much it is.

I do it with each batch of any concentrate or base liquid .. just to check and make sure.

you probably dont need to be that anal.

Aaaaaaaaargh! Once for each concentrate means over a hundred weighing jobs!!! New column to add to the spreadsheet ... so much for saving me time, eh? Yeah, I know, do it once and save time every time thereafter. But what a fag it is moving from mls to gms!! :(

This is certainly the best approach if you're mixing the same recipe over and over again, or even using the same concentrates repeatedly. Got that. Thanks. :)

The only problem with this part of Hampshire is that there are no cliffs to jump off. Think I'll take a little drive down to the coast ... I may be some time ...

You don't understand, ZT, if I take that sensible approach there will be a column in my spreadhseet with missing values ... holes ... gaps ... incomplete data ... these things keep me awake at night. There is no god, of that I'm sure, but there's a missing data demon that fecks about at night, nowhere near as pleasant as a succubus either, and even your dreamcatcher won't save me. I'm doomed to a lengthy weighing session once the scales arrive ... doomed I tell ya!!

well then .. lets hope the flavour houses you use dont change any of the ratios after you have weighed them all

Really appreciate the link to the mixing calculator !!!

Only just started using it, but it is looking VERY good; well thought out, comprehensive, and flexible.

imho it is worthy of a sticky thread of it's own.
