If it's doughtnut king you've mixed it will change colour quite dramtically with steeping

minimum steep for me is about a month

Yes it does... For my mixes that normally disappears after about a couple of weeks.
If you can, try and lay off it for a minimum 4 weeks and you'll definately benefit.
I don't touch mines for 6 weeks apart from the odd shake and breathe.
