Dual set ups for mech?

Morning people.
Hope you are all well, & coping with these testing times!?

I'm into mech mods, more so than regulated, although I have more regulated mods, I find I use mechs a lot more! ( & Breath)

Just an enquiry, rather than a question that i need help with.

If you use unregulated or mechs, what coils do you go for?
What ohms resistance?
Pre-made or your own?

Just out of interest really.

I find 0.12 ohms.
Claptons, 2x 24g Ni 80.
40g Ni 80 outer wrap.
6 wraps.

Seems the sweet spot for me.

Depends on the battery I'm using, on my heavy hitter mod I've got a 0.12 dual of flapton coils, on my able clone I've got something around 0.18 using the same wire.

Yeah, sounds about right. I don't get people saying that they run 0.08 coils?

I know, with mechs, you want a quick ramp up, but once you've fired once, the next puff will be more of less instantaneous.
Cheers though, .12 seems about sweet to me.

I think the 0.0x crowd are using stacked mods or ridiculously high CDR batteries, I could probably go lower on the heavy hitter as I have Hohmtech batteries that are 30-35A CDR, but I don't really wanna push my luck on a single cell. I also can't imagine how hot lower than 0.1 would be, even the 0.12 coils I'm using get a bit uncomfortable with longer than a couple of second draws.

You'd be surprised mate.
I know a few knobheads, that are using trash batteries, 0.07 ohm builds, hot mods, laughing & patting each other on the back, like it's clever.
I'm using Molicel P42As, no warmth to cells whatsoever. Nice med hot vape, flavour is great, clouds are thick & white.

Best to stay safe as far as batteries go, saw a fella nearly blow his nuts off once, a clone mech fired in his pocket, he was using poor batts & building low, ring lock failed, not pretty!

The Hohmtech cells I have reckon they are 39A CDR, but I don't trust that. I think Mooch's tests rated them about 35A, I'd have to look it back up to confirm.

I vape single coils at about 1 ohm, yes one whole ohm, not 0.1 . 28 awg kanthal.
