Had it with Leaky Mini Protank 2, Protank 2 . New clearo for VamoV5 recommendations?

I have a Sigelei Vamo V5 which I'm quite happy with but I'm having a lot of trouble finding heads (clearomisers, tanks, atomisers whatever) that don't leak /gurgle / produce a jet of superheated flavourless steam /taste of plastic.
The first upgrade I got after the Vamo was the Kanger Mini Protank2 (authenticity checked)
It gurgles, produces wet vapour. The atomiser looks a effective design for wicking liquid into the centre post and dropping it onto the battery pole. Cracked the tank cleaning it.

Not learning from my mistake I got a Kanger Protank 2 to spend less time filling. That's even worse. 3 draws and liquid everywhere. Same design but far more efficient at wicking liquid into the central post dumping it onto the battery pole with plenty left over to suck up the tube and drink.
f I wanted to drink the stuff, I could get 200 straws for a quid.

Tried different V and P settings, Hangsen, T Juices. Fixes on youtube O ring doubling up. Nothing in the manual about the spec for the O rings to order slightly better ones. though the O rings don't seem to be right for the machining, it looks to me the liquid is just flooding into the central post, not past the O rings.

So I got from another retailer a bunch of Kanger dual coils (enclosed type) which allegedly fit the Protank 2s. Do they hell. I think they are for the Protank 3s.
From same retailer I got an Aspire plastic BDC clearomizer and box of 5 coils. Seems to work well but what comes out the top is quite hot. Dropped that and it broke. Currently using the emergency trusty CE4s.

Kanger BDC coils. He did say due to the coil design I would probably end up using The Aspire BDC CE5 instead of the Protanks. DatTrue

What coils / tank / clearo would users recommend? I don't want to burn huge quantities of liquid, produce massive cloud plumes that would confuse MeteoSat. This is a way of getting nicotine for me not a lifestyle. I want something that will last with bits that can be replaced or upgraded as new coil designs are developed.
Worth keeping the Protank 2s and spare coils or put them down to experience? Are the Protank 3s any better?

I have a wee stock of Kanger "dual coil units for kangertech cartomizer", Kangertech coils with the bottom wicks that come out the side, Aspire BDC coils
Bloody industry, I'm not surprised it may be subject to regulation, churning out this leaky rubbish!

Any assistance would be helpful.

It sounds like the coil are the problem. .. or the wicks...are you sure coil is properly attached. .. not pulling as hard on the vape may help... should be slow gentle pulls... and try taking a coil apart and rebuilding as sounds like you are pulling too much juice through before it has had a chance to heat up... lower ohms coils and higher watts on your mod may both help here... but otherwise. .. best bet is going either with a different atty such as the ones by naturevape or a rebuildable atty... most of which can leak if not built right.... i have used protanks without any problems really. .. occasionally get a coil build wrong. . But not often... you can rebuild them yourself. .. and are likely to get a better vape and some idea of rebuilding will set you in good stead if you decide to move into rebuildables...

Protank 2 is not a dual coil atty... single coil... if the shop you bought the replacement coils can't sell you right gear i would consider shopping elsewhere. ..

If you get a duff batch of coils they can flood which is what you are experiencing, but it can also be caused by user error. The most common user error is sucking so hard that you are vacuuming juice into the coil housing. This can be mitigated by choosing a tank with adjustable airflow.

Get one of these to stick on your Protank 2 Kanger Airflow Control Valve V2 - Accessories and try a naturevape coil next time you need to buy new coils, they are expensive, but they outlast the standard coils by such a wide margin that they are well worth it even when you add in the horrendous postage cost.

I would give the Protank 3 a miss and buy an Aerotank v2. Much airier draw, which seems to be what you're after. You can use the Kanger dual coils in there but I would also highly recommend getting the Naturevape DCD Pro coil and watching the tutorials on how to dry burn and rewick them using cotton.
The Aerotank Mega may be worth the extra as it will look flush on your Vamo and you have much more juice to suck up through the centre post ... ;) LOL! Both have a stainless tank section if you break the glass again.

Finally, the Naturevape Midi tank is worth considering as the NV coil is obviously included. That does mean cutting your losses on your stock of Kanger dual coils though.

Yes, there is a learning curve with vaping, I'm afraid there is some onus on you to adapt by learning how vaping is different to smoking. Learn how the kit works and you'll get what you need. It's not difficult, just different.

Vape long, not hard!

The problem with leaking as I see it is not a problem with the particular brand name / manufacturer but a problem with the bottom coil. In my experience it appears to be more prevalent with dual coils than with single coils but it happens with all of them. What is happening is gravity making the liquid flood the coils and the centre tube. The only way I've found to stop it is to turn the tank upside down between vapes or fill with less liquid just enough for a single vaping session.

So practically the only alternative to avoid flooding / gurgling is a top coil with wicks. I'm currently looking at the Smok Pyrex Vivi Nova which is a 3.5ml capacity and enough for me for all day which is really what I'm looking for. It takes Smok Redux replacement heads and it's also rebuildable. Pyrex is a must-have for me due to the juice I mainly vape.

I added the Naturevape coil to my Kanger Protank 3 and there is world of difference with vapour and flavour but it still floods.

I found if my pro tank 2 was a little. Low on juice it would gurgle and leak.
fill it right up and it was ok

Having tried more tanks than I care to remember I am now using the kayfun lite. I avoided getting a rebuildable tank because I didn't want to be fiddling with it constantly. Even though I have to build my own coils now, I find that it actually takes less effort than any of the other tanks.

It don't leak, gurgle or splatter, it just works. Coil lasts anything up to a couple of months and all I do on a regular basis (every4/5days) is re-wick which takes about a minute.

Off the shelf coils are so hit and miss it drove me nuts; had coils that lasted a few hours.

This probably isn't what you wanted to hear, but my experience I just wish I'd done it sooner.
