You know... Not to derail this thread... But I also don't trust anyone who defends the rights of animals so profoundly, that they say they won't even eat one or anything that comes from one.... But yet they go through so much trouble to make their food taste just like the animals they tell everyone not to eat!!!!
To me that's just disturbing....
That just doesn't make sense, at all. Why is it so hard to understand someone, like me, who loves my meat. Would be delighted to get the taste and texture without the inherent cruelty of commercial farming. Same goes with any animal derived product. I'm no vegetarian or vegan wannabe, either.View attachment 214400 View attachment 214401

personally I'm far more suspicious of those that can't grasp the concept, of a meat eater who's happy when a quality vegetarian option, becomes available.
the above said. They're wasting their time trying to replicate bacon. It's never going to happen. It's animal fat, or the reactions there in, that give it it's taste.
Scullery maids did not carve anything, they were kept out of the kitchen and in the scullery ................In the victorian era the english upper classes used to get their scullery maids to carve meat into the shapes of pieces of fruit.
I have also seen pictures of swans carved from ice.
And reformed animal scrapings shaped into a long extruded panda bear shapes.
Whatever floats you boat.
