I got mine tonight when I got home and have been vaping on it.
My first impressions... This is a chunky solid piece of kit and doesn't actually look so huge 'in the flesh' as in pics. It is squatter than any Lavatube and stands up rock solid - in fact I rocked it a few times and it sat straight back down on its base again, whereas a Lavatube would have gone crashing. This I am very happy about. I had the same impression as Meg regarding the battery compartment screw cover - nicely engineered. My 2000 mah AW IMR with its little squat nipple fitted perfectly. The black is rather shiny and I too can see and feel some of the moulding / engineering marks on the edges of the fluting. The fluting is good - aids comfort and I like it. I am hoping that the black is enamel and not paint and will be durable. Model name and a big CE logo appears to be a transfer - but these days they can be durable too. Finish around the 510 connector and drip well appears to be of a high standard as well.
The BIG dispay is rounded and follows the curvature of the device and this is pleasing - it appears to be some sort of resin or plastic. I hope it is scratch resistant and juice / moisture sealed.
Fire up the display and you are faced with something bright, red and enormous - like one of the first LED watches, but much crisper. Vu - Voltage up - is displayed Uu. Voltage down Ud. I quickly found my way around the menu and it is easy to use. The 2 second delay though, from arriving at a menu item and being able to use it, seems enormous. Using the button and display though is a doddle and if you want to vape in bed in the dark, this would be the kiddy to do it on. That button feels - good, solid, responsive and is a dream to use comared to the two pesky little Lavatube ones.
I have a miini Vivi Nova that I have been using on an Ego and fitted it to this for first vape. Wow! Standard out of the box or battery change voltage is 4, which is pretty sensible and clouds of vapour ensued. I played around with the controls and vaped some more. I seemed to be getting a lot of vapour and air through this and took the Vivi Nova off. There's just 2 air slots in the top of the 510 connector. Maybe that huge juice well is an air reservoir too because I was getting loads of vapour and a really easy draw.
This airyness was reminiscent of the Biansi Imist...so... I got it out and vaped. There was so much air around it was hard work vaping on it on this device - until I cranked the voltage right up - superb - but the Imist version 2 got tried as well and was better - much better on this, in fact, great and it looked good too. I was puzzled by this 'air' and... my Vivi Nova 2 main tank sits on my TTS. One thing you could never deny the TTS is that it delivers power -lots and lots of it. So I set the TTS to 4.5 v and set the Imotion to 4.5 v and vaped the same tank over each back to back. No question of doubt, the IMotion was getting more air into the tank. With this vapour production was -easier. I became more curious...so.. Bud Tank atomizers are little things with little whistle-tip mouth pieces. When I put it on this it started crackling and producing more vapour than it has done on anything I own or have owned. An aside - I am cautious of ovetightening things - so tried to fire up the device with the Vivi Nova not quite in full contact with the connector and the device display immediately lit up with an F1 error as it is supposed to.
I like this very much, I like the styling too. It's chunky and comfortable. It feels much more 'me' than any Lavatube I have owned. If the finish and that button are durable, its going to have proved to be a great buy.
Bought from
http://esmokeuk.co.uk/ total cost was £57.65 inc P&P and the standard POTV discount. Package was body only and came wrapped in bublewrap with a users manual. This was easy to understand and mainly English. It only delves into Engrish a few times (
www.engrish.com) but the last page made me laugh. It exhorts you to use concentrated eliquid - "True flavour much more than smog". And ends with "Concentrated e liquid also is for your Provari and Lavatube" -which lays out its store a bit.
Interesting aside... I have a Biansi Imist V1 and a V2 and the resistances recorded on both these by the IMotion was bang on what the manufacturer claimed. The same for my little Bud tank atomizer. My Vivi Nova, which is supposed to be 2.4 recorded 2.6 and the Vivi Nova mini, which is supposed to be 2.4 came out at 2.8
