I did NOT say it caused my throat or my lungs to burn and become inflammed.

yes, but you need to think about it in the wider sense. how could it make you cough like crazy and irritate your throat, when there’s no poison in it? only harmless PG and VG. i don’t think it adds up.

not everybody that identifies PG as something they don’t tolerate well complains of burning lungs and throat.

aye, and coughing, irritation etc.

i wonder if the OP has maybe burnt their lungs and throat with a massive dry hit and mistakenly assumes that this was caused by strong nic (keeping in mind 20mg is the strongest you can buy as a consumer) and this is what is happening to people that find PG a bit intolerable.

i speculate, but it’s difficult to avoid in the circumstances.

mmm.... I can vape pretty much anything without problem, 100% PG, higher freebase nicotine (up to 20mg) NETs... there are a few flavours (or more specifically some flavouring compounds) that can cause me some minor throat irritation if I vape too much for too long, but it is only very minor.

But I cannot vape nic salts at all, it burns my throat so bad and tastes vile, it's so weird that so many other people describe it as 'smooth' because to me it's anything but. I still haven't got to the bottom of why. I suppose it could be an allergy but I don't know what I could be allergic to because it's essentially the same thing? But yeah, nic salts are completely unvapable to me.

I, too, found that salts are far from smooth and give me a sore throat
It’s a same because I did find that the absorption rate was better than freebase.

...also while I agree that PG allergies might be not as common as some folk think, that doesn't mean some people can't have an intolerance or adverse reaction to something in vape liquids, be that PG or anything else.

.. also breathing something into your throat and lungs is completely different to getting something on your hands or bathing in it. ffs.
