Hi all, apologies if this has been asked before but a search didn't throw up any answers for me.

I am thinking of buying the Innokin Cortex TC MOD with iSub S tank kit. Currently I only do MTL hits at around 12-13W on my Cool Fire IV Plus on a iSub Apex with a 2.0Ω Kanthal/Jap Cotton coil. I don't enjoy big sub Ω clouds at all. Would this be a wise purchase for me, or is it just overkill and I should just stick with whats working for me?

I would like the iSub S tank, This is approx £20-25 and the Cortex kit with the tank included is around £50. Should I shell out the extra dosh and get both or save a few quid if there is little benefit and just get the iSub S tank and use my stockpile of 2.0Ω coils?

Thanks in advance people

Mike

Personally I think its overkill.. TBH if your a mouth to lung vaper then there is a lot of set ups that would suit you more and are better designed to give you a better MTL experience than what your looking at.. A kayfun lite + or Taifun GT would be my initial suggestions... Lets ask @Rob to interject his thoughts as I think he is the man to ask and can give you more advice as I am a little out of touch with MTL after moving to he dark side..

Thanks, I've tried a bit of sub Ω on my CF4 with iSub Apex. Man it made my throat burn! I've tried a few different juice blends and find 70/30 VG/PG to be my personal sweet spot at either 3mg or 6mg. Depending on how much nic I want at the time. I've only been vaping a few weeks so still kind of learning the ropes as it were.

Hi Guys and sorry I'm so late to the party.
MTL Tanks that I really rate are the usual suspects. The Keyfun Lite Plus, The TaifunGT2 and The Kayfun Mini V3 of course. BUT, these are all rebuildables, i.e. you make your own coils and wicks. This "may" cause you some concern, but honestly, it really isn't at all difficult. ;) There are many brilliant youtube videos that will guide you through the whole process and once you have made one or two, you'll wonder what it was that had caused you any worries prior to getting going.

The Keyfuns are very good to learn on, especially the Kayfun Lite Plus which features a slightly more spacious build deck. The Keyfun Mini V3 is much the same, but space is considerably tighter. Alternatively, The TaifunGT2 is another dream to learn your building skills, it is slightly different to the Kayfuns, but once you have these two types of build under your belt, you'll be absolutely FINE for a great many of the other RTAs that are out there.

For my style of vaping, which is entirely Mouth To Lung, a Single Coil Build, using a Coil made from .28 or.30 Kanthal Wire on a 2.5mm Rod and then wicked with some Muji Cotton and vaped at say 12.5 watts will be full of flavour and offer you a very smooth vape.

Hope that clears up "some" of the questions, but feel free to ask more whenever you like. You'll get plenty of alternative recommendations, so it will be interesting to see where this goes.;)

Thank you for the extra info Rob. Its very much appreciated. I'm happy to build my own, I'm an electro-mechanical engineer by trade so I don't think it'll be too much of a problem. Ive been looking at the Kayfun Lite+ and the GT2 tonight. Both look appealing but I'm more drawn to the GT2 I think. These should fire up fine on the Cool Fire IV Plus MOD. So a temperature controlled MOD would be kind of lost on me then? I don't want to throw money away! Thanks again

Dude. Innokin are selling the kit on Amazon for £48! That's with prime aswell

I ran my GT2 on the TC Mod I had with GREAT success. I'd go as far as saying that it was possibly the best RTA I ever used in TC Mode. Very forgiving and plenty of room for the slightly larger coils that TC requires.;)

But don't forget, you don't HAVE to run your Mod in TC mode, you can use it perfectly for anything else, but nice to have TC on Tap... as it were.:2thumbsup:

Great stuff, as above the Cortex TC MOD is on amazon for £48 with prime ATM. Think I'll order that and a GT2. Time to break out the toolkit this weekend!
