I'm puzzled. I have 2 IPV D2 mods, both of recent origin, and I understood that the SX130H chip showed resistance fluctuation as the coil heats up on firing. Well, on mine it doesn't. It shows the locked resistance constantly. I know this is a characteristic of the later chip used in the D3, but my D2s definitely don't have step down voltage in power mode. I'm reluctant to satisfy my curiosity by dismantling either unit so if anyone has any thoughts on the matter, I'd love to hear them (well, OK, read them!)

PS I'm talking TC mode here, and I've tried Ni200, Titanium 1 and NiFe30 coils, all with similar results.

Later models of the D2 had the fixed resistance thing. If you insert a battery while holding the fire button it will display the firmware version. Firmware 3.0 has this feature.

Brilliant! Version 3.0 on one and 3.4 on the other. Thank you Mr. Numpty!
