.28 for me or .20 if feeling like a challenge.

Ten metres are fine until it decides to unravel itself all over the coffee table and you then spend the next eternity winding it back on :)

Thats where a hair band and a bit of care comes into play. Not sure what I would do with .2mm, it'd be like coiling with humam hair lol.

I don't understand people who say 0.8 is hard to coil, yet coil with 0.2 . 0.2, is actually Satan's pubic hair.
 
Exactly. Its alright if you twist about six strands together but an absolute fucking nightmare getting a single strand into some semblance of a coil, gimme some .45 - .8mm anyday, you just whistle at that stuff and you get a perfect micro coil every time.
 
All depends on what I am building. If its a single coil (parallel) then it would be .32 - 28AWG (I normally aim for 0.5ohm), anything thicker tends to be a bit of a bitch when connecting to posts (coils too wide). For everything else its .40 - 26AWG, easy to work with, and you it feels sturdier when you are tweaking and pulling at it what its on the posts.
