Hi Apes, looking for advice /clarification please.
I've just bought my first mech squonk mod and wanted to check that I have an idea of what I'm doing.
First off, battery safety. Well I have brand new HG2's and they are in great condition obviously, but if I wanted to use others I believe they need to have the wraps intact, insulation in the right places and have no corrosion. Please advise if I'm missing anything.
Now for vaping. I've been using rda's, rba's for a while now and know how to build a coil, check the resistance and get rid of hot spots etc. But.... it's all about power usage, isn't it.
So I've checked and my batteries are rated at 3.7V with a cdr of 20A. If I use a twin coil build at 0.4 ohms this will draw 9.25A which is well within the cdr of 20A, if I go to 0.3ohms it will draw 12.3A. I hope I've got this right so please correct me if not.
How close to the 20A rating is it safe for me to go? And what can I do if I'm not satisfied with the vape? With a regulated mod I'd simply turn up the wattage or temperature along with altering airflow but I'm not sure what I can do with a mech device.
Sorry for the long post, I don't want to lose any fingers or any of my face so wanted to make sure I was on the right track.
Any and all advice will be gratefully received.
Thanks
Banjo.
