MVP2 not firing Kayfun 3.1 Clone

Hello! New to the forum here, so this is my first post.

I recently decided to upgrade to a Kayfun 3.1 clone to use with my MVP2 but the results haven't been too great so far.
Having followed numerous online tutorials to build a microcoil using 30 gauge kanthal, I attempted to build a coil that should be sitting above or around the 1.3 level, I understand that this is the average lowest ohm's an MVP will fire.
However, every build I've tried simply shows NON on the MVP screen.
I don't have an ohm meter as I was intending on using the mod to do this!!!
Does anyone have any suggestions with regards to what I might be doing wrong, different gauge kanthal, number of wraps etc etc?

Is the center pin from the 510 connector touching the mvp center pin dude?

non means it doesn't register an atty so it don't know the kayfun is on the item. you may need to raise the pin in the mvp up a bit for it to connect.

or before that try a 510 connecter on the device see if that changes anything.

my mvp does this with 1 of my iclear 30's,you need to raise the centre pin on the mvp slightly with a small screwdriver then it should connect.

So just sort of wedge the centre pin up from the sides using a small flathead?

The kayfun has an adjustable centre pin so maybe try unscrewing that out a bit too.

clint As long as it doesn't short when you do that in the kayfun. I know some of them are not liking you doing that.

So I raised the pin and now i'm getting a 0.0 reading on the MVP. I'm guessing this suggests a problem with my coil?
