I think I’m going to try pg nic as the last two batches of VG Nic have been crap both harsh and unvapable

Hi all been a little while,
I’ve mixed a lot of single flavour concentrates and elr recipes at 2mg and some at 1.5mg.
Now this is where it gets a little complicated I believed that dropping the nic down from 3mg would solve the harshness I had been getting, but it’s still there in a lot of my mixes!
I have tried 2 sources of vg based nicotine and the results are always the same, good flavour but harsh undertone (on the lower nic mixes I have done recently) and the 3mg to harsh to get the flavours through!
I have been comparing the actual taste of my liquids (1 small drop on the finger) to that of bought liquids.
Doing the taste test the difference I have noticed is that my diy mixes have a slightly spicey note on the back of the throat whereas the premium bought ones do not?
Is this a sign of bad nicotine?
All advice welcome I really want to get to the bottom of this issue it’s driving me crazy lol

You were spot on m8..... I think lol
I have spoken to my supplier and they have agreed to send me out a replacement in PG. They did like to point out that they have supplied over 300 litres in the last month and 200 of those were to “one of the largest eliquid manufacturers in the uk” so I am still a little sceptical as to whether or not this will make the difference but all the advice and signs are pointing in this direction.

If they were sure there was nothing wrong with it they would not have been so quick to give you a replacement irrespective of how good their customer service was.
Be keen to see for sure if this was your issue all along.

Yeh this is true I’ll keep you all posted on how I get along. It should be waiting for me at home wen I get in so I’ll probably mix up a little something tonight wen I get in.

Just got in and it’s here

Might not mix tonight it’s been a long day but I have smelt the nic and it has no smell

So maybe, just maybe this batch is a good one lol

So Mixed with the new Nic at 3mg and it seems a hell of a lot less harsh and smells much better than the other nic i had gotten previously.

I am now mixing at between 2mg and 2.5mg to get the nic i need in my mixes and the no harshness i have come to like from an ejuice.


I have recently ordered some Darkstar One Shots too mix with so i can get some excellent juices made up in large quantities to allow good steep times.

Are there any other good One shot flavour concentrates people recommend? These are the ones you mix at 20% so a 30ml one shot bottle will make 200ml Mixed ejuice?
