HI,

been smoking for probably 20 years +. Tried stopping using normal techniques many times and had no luck.

Anyway to cut a long story short STOBTOBER is upon us so i thought sod it - ill try again and picked up a De-Bang Vapor Explosion Stix up from my local garage along with a 24mg nic tobacco flavour and a 12 mg Berry Burst flavour juice.

WOW - ok, its only 5 days on but despite the odd craving and grumpiness id happily say im a non smoker now and have no urge to buy a pack of ciggies and smoke !! RESULT.

So then, wha im after is some info on the De-Bang stix ive brought - The kit included a Vgot rechargabale battery, a ce4 clearomiser and a usb charger. Are these interchangable with other makes ? Would i be better buying a starter kit from the market place or will my "petrol station" purchace suffice ? How long is it likely to last - what extra battery should i be buying etc etc . What is reccommended to buy to get you going ?

How should you "smoke" a PV ? at the moment its with me constantly - i start the day with the tobacco juice and then in afternoon change to the berry juice - i tend to take a couple of puffs on it every now and then - maybe slightly more than if i was to purposely go outside to smoke a cigarette - are they fine to use like this or should you just look to use them when you get a craving ?

Sorry - Loads of questions but this is all new to me and now im off the wagon i want to give myself the best chance of staying OFF lol

Cheers in advance for any answers and replies - seems like a good community with lots of info here so hopefully ill be sticking around :D

First of all - congratulations! Giving up can be very tough, and I'm glad you've found some success with vaping~! :D

I'm not familiar with De-Bang, but a quick Google search looks like they're you're usual ego type batteries which means that they (and the CE4 clearomiser you have) should be totally compatible with pretty much anything, assuming they have the usual 510 connection and ego threading. It will absolutely suffice as is, but if you do pick up another ego starter kit - they should all play perfectly fine together. Alternatively, you could just pick up another ego battery as a spare, so that you have something to vape whilst the other is charging. I would probably also recommend getting yourself a few replacement heads as they are effectively disposable items unless you go into the more complex task of rebuilding. As a rough estimate, I'd say they last 2-3 weeks before you'll need a new one. Sometimes less, sometimes more - depends on usage.

As for how you should vape... that is entirely up to you! I have a device within arms reach at all times, and I vape more than I ever really smoked. But whether you want to chain vape or only take a few puffs now and again, it's fine - whatever it takes to keep you off cigarettes is great :)

Congrats!

I stopped smoking almost exactly 1 year ago using a crap cig-a-like thingy I bought from the corner shop partly because of stoptober.

So a De-Bang stix (which I'd never heard of until 2 mins ago - thanks google) looks like an eGo style battery although shorter. eGo style batteries are the most popular and widely used vaping device that there is, so it *should* be compatible with any other eGo based thing. However all eGos are not created equal. Some of them only work with their own chargers, some of them are cheap tat, some of them are really good quality and will last ages, and to be honest I have no idea which category the De-Bang thing falls into.

It *should* last (the battery) over 6 months if you charge it once a day. The clearomiser will last about the same amount of time if you're careful with it, though the coil (the bit that gets hot and turns the liquid into vapour won't. That will last a week, maybe 4 weeks plus if you clean it regularly (every other tank full). engineering wise heads are like lightbulbs, coiled bits of wire that get hot. some last for ages, some wear out quickly.

How should you "smoke" a PV ? at the moment its with me constantly - i start the day with the tobacco juice and then in afternoon change to the berry juice - i tend to take a couple of puffs on it every now and then - maybe slightly more than if i was to purposely go outside to smoke a cigarette - are they fine to use like this or should you just look to use them when you get a craving ?

that's a personal thing really. Are you wanting to quit smoking and then vaping completely and use the vaping as a stepping stone to quitting?? If so then use it when you feel like to start with, then look to reduce the nicotine content over time and use it less often until you are using such a low strength of nicotine that you can stop entirely. If you want to switch to a much healthier alternative than smoking but still want to enjoy the good bits of smoking without any of the health issues then use it as much as you want. The medical research right now says that vaping is about as bad for your health as drinking coffee (i.e. next to no health risk and about 99% better for you than smoking)

Some people pick one up and vape whenever they want to, some people prefer to use it like they used cigarettes, there is no right or wrong way, if it keeps you from smoking then RESULT!

It's certainly a great community here, welcome to the planet!

If I was looking to buy new and improved vape kit and I had an eGo device already, probably the next step is to get an eGo with variable voltage control. The thing you have now chucks out a set power rating (3.7 volts) which is fine if your atomiser has a resistance of 2ohms or less. But you have a lot more options with a battery that you can increase or decrease the power on. Higher power = more vapour and more flavour (more or less) if you like the size of what you have then I'd look to get an eGo style Variable voltage battery. The best makes you can get right now are joyetech, SmokTech, or Vision and a 900mah battery that ought to last all day with variable voltage will cost £15 to £20. (mah or milli amp hours is the length of time the battery lasts between charges and bigger is better, though a higher mah battery will be longer)

Ideally you want to have 2 batteries when you go with eGo stuff, 1 to use and one to have charging. When you charge them you want to use mains plugs connected to the charger and not a computer USB port. (you can get a decent mains plug thing for about £6 - or if your phone uses a USB cable then that will work fine as well.) I'm not sure what charger you have or whether it's designed to work only with the battery it came with or with eGo batteries generally so if you get other better batteries it might well be worth spending some money on a better charger cable. The one you have might be fine, without seeing it it's hard to say, though they're not that expensive.

If you later decide you'd like something bigger and more powerful eGo's will still make an excellent backup.

Right now the best tank thing you can get to put onto an eGo style battery is a mini ProTank or an evod. Evods are cheaper and are made of plastic, ProTank2's are metal and glass so last longer.

The tank you got with yours is very popular, it's the lower end of the range though.

Have a look at the Marketplace here - there's a bunch of good stuff there, ask any questions here and someone somewhere will know the right answer.

Well done Dave on giving up the dreaded weed. I've seen the DeBang ones in my local garage. Start at the bottom and when your ready to step up the game and move onto the bigger batteries and mods.

Cheers for the replies peeps.

Well today its been a week since i stopped smoking and started vaping :D so ive decided after a couple of days of reading to get myself one of the evod starter kits from myepack and some new juices :D

My current ce4 vape is starting to taste a little plasticky - is this a sign it needs a clean or is it a sign its on its way out ?

Depends what you mean by plasticky.

If you're using a 'tank cracking' e-liquid and it tastes plastic - stop vaping it and throw the liquid in the tank away. (see this thread)

If you're getting a burnt kind of taste then it needs cleaning. Best thing to do is check the head, if it looks dark brown/black, give it a clean or replace it.

To dry burn clean empty tank of juice and take it apart as much as you can so you can see the coils. Put the coil onto a battery (ideally one that's turned down or one that's half used if it's a fixed voltage battery)
fire it for 3-4 secs then take finger off the button and blow on the coil. Repeat this until the coil looks lots cleaner, it should go almost back to white coloured wick and shiny metal coils.

Put it all back together and try vaping it. If you do this cleaning procedure after avery 2 or 3 tankfulls it'll give you a better vape and should also last a bit longer.
