What's new

Nottinghamshire Police Enforcing Coronavirus Guidelines.

When I took the woofs out today there were joggers and cyclists all over the shop, but then that's normal for this middle class part of the countryside. They're all metres from each other so I don't see the problem. While we were trudging across the fields, I wondered how differently I'd feel about all of this if I was in a town or city. The answer is simple, I'd be going barmy.
I took the kids to our local field to play football for an hour earlier but whilst there were a few people there, nobody was that close. Good to have safe fresh air an exercise IMO

We've now been told to carry a letter just in case we're stopped. Originally intended for agency staff, it states we are key workers, cos apparently our i.d. and uniform aren't proof enough.

Still seeing large groups of lads and lasses around the park area, not adhering to the spacing rule. We've just had our first confirmed CV death in York, my age (56) with no obvious underlying health problems. Very sobering, but I bet these young fuckers don't take heed [emoji36]

Sorry to hear this^^^^
I still don't think enough folk have got their head round whats going on yet.
Might have to take our heir to the throne for folk to realise itspretty fucking bad.

People do now seem to be listening to the (too vague, too late) government advice.

Key worker (we deliver food to the elderly) so still commuting to work. I had an entire eight carriage train to myself on the way in this morning and that's a major route, London to Edinburgh.

Some walkers, joggers and cyclists in the city but not that many. More beggars than workers around but those poor souls have no-where to go.
Just more obvious when the streets are deserted.

Outside of busses most of the traffic is Police, Ambulance and deliveries. The army helicopter flying over a deserted George Street yesterday while I was out for a vape was maybe the one thing that really kicked it home. Strange days.

I haven't seen any police on my travels to and from work into Leicester. The roads are quite empty though at 06.30 and not much more at 17.00

I had to go out today (to get food) and the roads were just as normal, you wouldn't know there was any lockdown on. Went for walk in my local park as my 1 exercise. Park was pretty busy, people totally ignoring the 2 metre rule, meeting and chatting in groups,a joggers brushing past people and really behaving like nothing was different. What the hell is wrong with these people??

Broxtowe, Nottingham Police are pulling over vehicles and checking the reason for there travel. (They claim, it needs to be for "key workers" travelling to work only)

@StrawberryRipple , don't want to clutter the keyworker thread, so shifted it here.

Without wanting to go off topic, does that include a person driving around in a car or on a motorbike merely to give that vehicle a battery charge or somebody who just needs to get out for a while without mixing with people?

That would probably fit into the "one form of exercise per day".

A lot of rulebreakers out there then, I know people who are coming and going, same as ever was, visiting people (call it friends with benefits), then returning to their own home, where they mix for instance, with a grown up son and quite possibly even their younger children who are non resident. And that is just one person, the mind boggles.

Is it though anyone's business, does one say something to that person (from a distance), or just leave it up to the (overworked) authorities to enforce?

Have a look at the vid and post I've just put in the key workers thread.
I think this is where the gov is falling very short.

The police are out here too in Essex last night i saw a police car stop down the road to me and broke up a bunch of kids and sent them on there way i cant understand way their parents are allowing to go out in the first place.
