Old hexohm?

So I have an old hexohm of which I thought I'd lost, turns out it was in an old backpack in my garage, the paint on its hammond box has started peeling away, looks a bit crap but internally afaik it all worked previously, so would assume it still does but haven't tested it just yet. My question is, has anybody transplanted the innards to another box, perhaps a nicer cnc'ed one and how did it go?

I'd just strip it and re-paint, not sure if you would find a compatible box , is it a hammond box with the lean or are the sides all square ?
