Original or Clone?

Contact Kanger direct for EVODs :) If you want to order bulk

I think I might just contact a UK seller and see what we get if ordering in bulk. Might as well support the local economy..

Personally I want a specific original, because I like the look and quality. Another factor being that it hasnt yet been copied/cloned so for me its not so much about supporting anyone just buying what I like.

Talking about clones, does Verne's Vapes clones take long to arrive, or is it same or next week delivery???? want to get me some clones!!!!!

Thats a very broad statement and not entirely true.

I mean morally - they'll do anything they're allowed to do. And if you what you say is right about the CR laws then maybe the european and US mod makers need to pull their fingers out and TM their stuff in China!

from fasttech staff the cloners are in remote areas so go unnoticed :)
edit: I'll try and find the full post

Given their business nature, that there aren't a lot of large, int'l service level corps in the cloning business. Cloners also tend to operate in suburbs and smaller towns to avoid potential troubles and to save costs. I personally find it hard to effectively communicate with most of the factories, in Chinese. Getting some frigg'n screws takes literally hours of man-hour asking pushing and following up.

I know that there can be obvious design issues with products at times that leave everyone scratching their heads. Frankly it's almost a way of life here. I don't know how to describe the level of difficulties we face when solving these problems. Consider this: all of FastTech's CS staffs completed at least college degrees have received years in university level training. Many of them also have years of working experience in the field. Yet, customers see funny replies and there are comments against them everyday.

Many cloners are those who know how to operate some CNC machines, have some handful of labors, but has basically no other professional training whatsoever. Now imagine getting support from them. Another case in point: what kind of a culture/company would continually wholesale products to a certain vendor, while at the same time telling their end users that vendor's stuffs are fake? AND this happens to be a "good quality", professional maker.

Not trying to push the problem away. Now we all know that some brands are have certain reputation that they sell quality stuffs. Please be assured that FastTech is working on quality, the thing is our product selection is extremely wide and things are not easy. We need some time working on it.

I started of with the intention of 'try before you buy' but when I realised that the clones actually were of, to me, good quality (although in some cases needing a little tinkering) I started wondering why I would pay £150 for a metal tube that may or may not work marginally better then what I had in my hand for £15........and since then its been clones all the way.

I could probably afford to shell out £150 once and only once in a year, but being able to spend the same amount and have 4 mods and 4 decent attys just made more sense. I can now spread that £150 into a monthly vaping budget to cover a new mod, atty, batteries, juice or a modest combination where otherwise I would have one mod and a handful of cartos.

I don't think that buying clones deprives any mod maker imo as 95% of clone buyers could never afford the real thing anyway so no sales are being diverted.

Thought I'd my tuppence worth.

I draw the line at fakes. To me a clone is a copy of a high end atomiser/device which says "I Am a copy" it has a different name or a different logo.

e.g. Russian vs Kayfun.

I have an original Kayfun. It's my favourite atomiser, I wish I was able to sell them (that's a different kettle of fish)

You can now buy a "Kayfun" from certain Chinese suppliers that is as near as dammit an exact copy, down to the logo on it, of an actual Kayfun. That's a fake. I despise fakes.

I've had several conversations with a local engineering company about making our very own mods. Thing is I know the square root of feck all about engineering so that's probably not going to happen. I do know a whole lot about flavours, so I plan on taking my business in the e-liquid direction and not the "mods and stuff" direction, which is why we don't get in hcigar this or that and we stock a limited, but tried and tested range of decent middle of the road things as well as e-liquid.

If it wasn't for original devices there wouldn't be any clones. If it wasn't for clones, sales of originals wouldn't be nearly as high. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and a sure sign that a device isn't great is if it's not been cloned.
Generally though, clones are mass produced, are inferior quality (how inferior varies a lot) and you tend to get better after sales service from an original seller than a clone seller, you pays yer monies you takes yer choice.

I don't have a problem with clones. It's a bit like the Windows vs Mac advocacy. The reality is that Windows needs Mac to exist and Mac needs Windows to exist. (necessity is the mother of invention)

Personally I draw the line at fakes. Though other people draw their lines in different places, and that's fine.

At the end of the day it's your money and the market is plenty big enough to support the original makers (some of whom could use a lesson in TradeMarking Law) and the clone makers, and it doesn't matter what you use to vape. If it satisfies you and keeps you off the smokes then it's all good imo.
