Pfizer given protection from legal action by UK government

Ok and the reason is?

you put all these articles saying about the facts the guardian etc but you won’t have a vaccine to protect your self or the people that go to your supermarket you would rather risk it but you work in the highest risk area for transmission

what is the scientific reason to say it’s unsafe, not “I have a choice” everyone has that what is the reason the thing that is factual trust in the company is also not an issue as there will be 4 or 6 other companies

I personally do not want the vaccine is the reason
I do not feel I actually need it, worked in a risk area all during lockdown(s)

well one you need to tell the government supermarket staff should be vaccinated first
as care homes are lower on the list according to PHE track n trace

members of the public mostly wear masks & I do not deal with public at all
(good job eh ???)

We are more concerned about agency staff as the majority of staff are in a "bubble"
agency staff we do have slight concerns over though where they have been
(more so during the early lockdown, before track trace
& cunthogs here was working whilst everybody else sat at home
shifting all the pasta bog roll arseholes were hoarding)

The scientific reason - I never said it was unsafe, just have concerns/questions
I let people decide & make their own choices - if you want to have the vaccine I respect that
please respect my choice

so will you wish to see the staff's certification of vaccine
or demand the company requires their staff to be fully vaccinated
or you will not give them your custom
my my my what is this world turning into I wonder ????

A few points;

The phrasing of the article is extremely leading, nigh on click bait. As mentioned, this is common practice but has made it sound like some kind of dodgy dealing. I think there are far more dodgy things that this government has done in its response to the pandemic that we should be looking at.

While vaccines don’t have the risk factors that we see in other medications, it’s ok for people to question whether it’s wise to have the vaccine. Consent is important and it’s ok to ask questions. We should look to evidence for answers. Those who are happy to have it will provide the evidence that will help others make decisions. You cannot arrive at complete conclusions from incomplete data.

I’m sure some people will disagree with this. Lots of people are mentioning their friends in the health services, but it’s not cut and dried for those working in these sectors. They are asking the same questions and opinion is just as divided.

And for clarity; I’m a registered nurse and have worked throughout this pandemic. My colleagues and I have discussed the vaccine a great deal. As community nurses we have been there in the care homes. I have many friends that work in a huge range of settings and specialisms within hospitals and other areas of practice. I myself am about to transfer to work in a hospice which is a designated ‘hot’ ward.

Ultimately, personal choice is key. A lot is being made of the extreme conspiracy theory/anti-vaccine stuff, but for me, most people are just asking questions because they want to make the right choice.

Thankyou some clarity

we all have asked the same questions social media is going nuts over the vaccine the amount of made up stuff is just nuts

but at the end of the day for me I am in the position of if I don’t have it and catch covid and go in with no symptoms and give it to patients or co workers I have to live with that yes it’s not 100% effective that I know

but at the end of the day if I don’t have a jab I’m going against my own code of care to be safe I don’t think anyone would be happy with me attending there loved one and having a heightened chance of giving a sick person a deadly virus

I think the far reaching issue will be when you apply for a job in the future it may be asked

“have you had a covid jab”

it’s your right not to have it but as a employer do you think they would proceed with the job application if they think you could pass on a virus to there customers I expect that will happen due to the fact if you got covid from a place and died the “no win no fee” solicitors will be circling like sharks

That is your interpretation, are they not reporting a fact?

no, they aren’t really. reporting facts would say “the government has ruled that covid-19 vaccines will be added to the many other common vaccines covered by the vaccine damage payments act 1979. this is normal practice and not out of the ordinary, the same indemnity covers the flu vaccine you have every year and most of the vaccines you allowed you children to get when they were wee.”

Shit.... with that statement press release, you have just scared folks away from the flu vaccine n vaccinating their weans:)

i’m a bit worried aboot you @Rickster , aw they years delivering depots and here ye are worried about a wee vaccine that’s gonnae end the zombie holocaust. i’m just on the phone tae shawpark they said the’ll be roon shortly. aye that’s right, the first hoose in kirkie ye’ll pass wi the roof aw covered in tin foil. somebody’s bricked up the windaes. he’s got the curtains shut and the big lights aff an he keeps goin on aboot how bb’s comin tae get him. some sort of acute delirium, i think.

Just a cautious approach fella, the click bait 99.5% effective in the trials has everyone's head spinning.
Let's wait n see if it's as effective in the elderly n the no well, who were I believe not part of the trial group, then we will know how it performs in real life.

the moderna one was tested on a group of oldies, but the gov missed the boat on that one for brexit reasons.

more worrying is how long it lasts and that they aren’t even sure how well it will prevent transmission. who knows we might get out the hoose yet.

I don’t really give a shit whether they’ve got indemnity or not to be honest. This has been such a fuck up of a year that if the only way out of it is it take a jab from a company that’s legally untouchable should there be repercussions then fair one, I’m in.
