RBA on MVP 2, what do I need?

@Panter Oh man I really dunno what I am doing, lol. I just emailed stealthvape to ask them to change the pre made resistance - no resistance wires to 1.5 ohm, but now you're saying it will be no good?

The pre-made resistance wire has a section of "normal" wire at each end. It's to rebuild the Kanger heads, things like that, where the wire runs through grommets and other bits that you don't need to heat (you don't actually need it for those either, but that's another story!)

With the KFL, and all rebuildables (as far as I know) the coil mounts directly to the posts which are insulated from each other so you don't want, or need, the non-resistance part of the coil.

Have a watch of the videos posted earlier, it will give you an understanding of how the deck works :)

EDIT: You can still use the 1.5 ohm pre-made stuff, but you'll probably end up cutting out most of the non-resistance bit! but it may be useful to have a go at the Kanger heads (or similar) later on anyway :)
But, for future reference, for the KFL you just need ordinary Kanthal

EDIT: Do you get what I mean about the premade wire, the NR/R/NR stuff?
It's resistance wire (gets hot when current is applied) with a piece of non-resistance (normal) wire fused to each end (which doesn't get hot)

Panter ok thanks. I've actually ordered some standard .28 wire from ebay as well already, so that'll do. I should just leave the pre made stuff at 3ohm as it might do in my Kanger Aerotank and mPT3 builds if I decide to do them dual coil. But you're saying that I don't even need it for them? Are you trying to confuse me sir? haha!

Sorry, no, ignore that! I'll drop you a pm matey, might be easier! :)
Sounds as if you'll be fine with what you have on order. Do watch the vids though, as well as Todds reviews and Rip trippers. It really helps to know exactly what you're going to do before it turns up :)

@Panter Yes mate, starting to understand. I started my last reply before I saw your edit, and we both had the same idea about using the 3ohm for the Kanger dual coil heads. So I think my wicks have started to soak, so to speak. :D

Good! Always remember though, I know feck all about vaping as I've only been doing it 5 minutes so take anything I say with a large pinch of salt. But, if it helps, superb! :D

@Panter I think I'm sure you know more than you think, I think. Rob at stealthvapes got back to me saying he'll change my order, n then I had to reply again asking him not to now. lol, felt like a right, erm, lemon!

Edit: @Panter Appreciate the advice about not going with the pre-made stuff for the KFL+. Nice one!

Trouble is, I know what I know, but I don't know what I don't know. Or know. I'm confused now, think I'll have a vape!

Hopefully you'll get there mate, good luck!

@Panter Yes hopefully so. Need a lie down now! Oh edit: The missus just got back and wants me to do a few things because "I've been doing nothing all day". If only they knew how much hard work this vaping stuff is! Laterz! :D

Cheers, I kinda but don't completely understand (but that's not your fault), I think I just need to make one of these coils to understand better. I think I'll use Silica to start with, gotta be a better vape than those Kanger coils (although they're silica too so I hope so!).

Think I'll get the standard .28 wire as I can't quite get to grips with the pre-made resistance stuff. The highest pre-made resistance I've seen is 1.8, but on a dual coil that will only be 0.9 ohms which will be too low for my MVP 2. Maybe I am starting to understand some of this stuff! :D

Might go for this set of screwdrivers: Micro Precision Screwdriver Mini Repair Kit Set Mobile Glasses Watch Laptop | eBay

Will I need tweezers or anything? Really not got any tools, lol.

I tried a dual on the kfl, and the MVP fired it on 0.8 lol -- dont know why because it shouldnt as you say.

But the dual was crappy, compaired to the single. I dont think its air flow is designed for it, or power distribution ?
