RBA vs pre-built - Please explain

I splashed out on a proper meter to read and fire my coils, used it once and never bothered after that. I just stuck to using my mod.

Just make sure you turn the mod off while you're inserting your coils so you don't accidentally hit the fire button.

You should have some ceramic tweezers in your little tool kit so after you've installed your coil in the build deck they need to be bedded in by dry firing them and using the tweezers to tweek and strum them to get rid of any hotspots.

the wire brush will be good - i just use a screwdriver because i have a pack of them on top of my build kit and my brush is somewhere at the bottom of a big tupperware box full of build supplies and i'm too lazy to dig it out.

Don't bother buying a build tab/ohm reader - most only house a single 18650 battery and they are next to useless for glowing/strumming low resistance dual coil builds. A lot of them aren't power adjustable which means they throw whatever power the battery can provide to the coil unless you pay through the nose to buy one with a DNA chip - but even with that they are still limited by the single 18650. Your mod will do the same job without the power limitations as long as you aren't using a single 18650 mod lol.

Yeah. It's dual 18650. Thinking of getting a dual 21700 mod at some point as even vaping at 70w on this I'm having to charge it by late afternoon/evening.
I love that this one has a massive screen though and would want similar on another mod. Right now I have the Geekvape Aegis X 200w mod with x2 Molicell P28A's. Huge OLED screen on it which looks really nice. It's really nice but wish it would take 21700 batteries.

Looking at mods. Don't think I'll find a 21700 one with a big of a screen as the Aegis X. But does anyone have the Geekvape L200 classic? It seems the L200 doesn't take 21700's, but the L200 classic does.
An L200 Classic paired with x2 21700 Molicell P45B's should last all day and night really with a combined 9000mah capacity and 45a discharge rate.

L200 classic any good?

I don't own one but all the Geekvape mods I've bought over the years are still working - it uses essentially the same board that Geekvape have been nailing into their dual battery mods for years so it SHOULD be reliable enough.

The only reservation I'd have is - the sheer size of the thing. I've seen a pic of one side by side a Geekvape Aegis Legend mod and it makes the Legand look tiny. I have fairly large hands and the Legend is fairly large but still comfortable - I would struggle with the L200 classic. If you're happy with the size then it's probably worth a punt - just don't underestimate how big it is.

A padded battery case from Fogstar and a couple of spare 18650s could be a better option if the size is a bit much

edit - the Vandy Vape Guar mod may be worth checking out. I don't have one of these either but they seem popular on here.

I've got the Legend Classic. As you say, it is dual 21700. I only got it as a spare the last time I ordered from Sourcemore in case one of my Odin mods stopped working. It's definitely the biggest and heaviest mod I've ever handled so definitely not one to slip in your pocket when you're going out. It's also not the most comfortable in the hand.

However, my hands aren't huge and I don't find it a problem indoors. It works absolutely fine apart from the catch on the battery door which is difficult to click shut. I'm short sighted but the display is very easy to read.

Yeah I've seen the size of it. it's HUGE. I was going to just use it as an indoor mod, but you're probably right about getting another set of 18650's, That'll be cheaper as well lol.

I checked out the Vandy Vape Guar mod. I like it. It seems to be smaller too. I'll invest in some more batteries and a charger and see how I get on before buying a new mod. Thanks man

If you're after a charger I'd recommend two options.

Either go to Fogstar and choose one. They are very well liked around here and I've bought from them a few times and always trust them.
If you use the discount code POTV20 you'll get a 20% discount.

Alternatively back in July I went to AliExpress and bought a top of the range one that has loads of useful features and workks with 21700, 18650 as well as all your normal AA, AAA sizes for £43 posted which arrived in under 2 weeks. I just had to make sure to select the correct UK adapter before adding it to the cart. This is the one.

That's great, thanks man. I just need a cheap one. Nothing fancy.
The Vapcell U2 looks alright but it's out of stock. I don't need it right now so I'll keep checking back. Cheers

Edit: Just got the Vapcell 2QS. With the discount it was only £5 including shipping. Nice

That's a good choice. For vape batteries alone you don't need anything too fancy.

When it comes to the batteries themselves just make sure you only buy from well trusted vape companies and never buy cheap batteries from places like ebay. As you'll be vaping higher wattage sub ohm builds I would also make sure your batteries are rated at least 25 amps or higher.

As well as my vape batteries I also use a lot of AA and AAA Ni-Cad batteries which suffer deteriorating capacity because of memory effect so the modes on the charger I got help to fix that problem. That doesn't happen with lithium vape batteries.

I did it!! I got my Aromamizer Supreme V3 RDTA and made my first build!
I went for mesh at first. I redid the cotton after I threaded the first bit as one end was pulled through after I thinned it and a thin bit under the coil would lead to dry hits. So I tried again and I did it!
I thought it would be more difficult than it was but I watched plenty of tutorials and I did it and I feel really good about it lol!!

There's so much vapour I'm getting a bit of a nic rush from it. I have 10mg strength 70/30 liquid. I'm going to switch to a 6mg one I think because there's a lot of vapour on this mesh.

But yeah. Pretty much first go and it's all good. Going to try single coil deck next, then dual and see which one I prefer. I'll take some photos and post here just to get some feedback. Hope that's ok.
I'm really chuffed with myself hahaha XD

As for the batteries. Yes, I only buy from proper electronic/vape stores and only brand name batteries. I'm sticking to Molicell as they have a good rep and I already have Molicell ones.
