RBA's - Idiots guide?

Okay. TBH most coil setups I try seem pretty much the same performance wise. Certainly not noticeable. I have the right batteries for the device as the manufacturer told me what to buy. The device tells me the resistance of the coils etc. I can build from 0.6 on the fogger to 2.4 single.

Therefore for the purposes of this question I take it the steam page can be disregarded?

No! Once you have the spec for your coil, go to the Ohms law tab, enter the voltage and resistance to see if the amp draw is within the safe limits of your battery.

From your comments it sounds like you are using a regulated device. This means that the wattage setting to a large extent does away with the need to pay close attention to the resistance of the coil you are building (THOUGH YOU STILL NEED TO KNOW THE MINIMUM RESISTANCE YOUR BATTERY CAN SAFELY FIRE) If you take a 1.2ohm coil and fire it on a regulated mod at 15 watts you will be vaping at 15 watts, if you put a 0.5ohm coil in and fire it at 15 watts you are still going to be vaping at 15 watts. A lot of the coil building techniques really come into play when you are using a mech/unregulated device. Where you will find differences are in the way in which the vape changes as you alter the surface area of your coil. Using 0.25mm wire to create a 1ohm coil which would be quite a diddy little thing may give you a different vape from using 0.4mm wire as the surface area of the coil in contact with the wick would be substantially greater. This would be an area worth investigating on a regulated device.
