Rebuilding a Evod/Protank Coil head

Hello all, I have recently tried one of those Nature Vape Pro coil heads.

http://www.naturevape.co.uk/store/?age-verified=fee8bbf034#!/~/product/category=8507589&id=33067756

I wish to try building my own now. I want to get them to about 1.5 ohms. And I want the Kanthal wire to be thick so I can dry burn and just replace the cotton wool when changing flavours.

It has been suggested to me to use .28 Kanthal wire at about 12 wraps. I'm not sure what size drill diameter I should be using when wrapping also.

Any help you could offer would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

I used a 1.4 mm or a 1.8 mm drill bit either work really well with my naturevape coils and I just use my mates kanthol wire but Iam going to get some resistance-no resistance- resistence wires from stealthvapes as they are supposed to be as good as the wire in the naturevape coils

Thanks mate. What size kanthal wire do you use? I'm not really sure what type of wire that is resistance/no resistance.

I think it's 32 gauge wire he uses it's quite thick really I have no idea what the the wire from stealthvapes is but Iam going to try it they come already precut all you do is order the right wire for the ohms you want

Thanks. If Natutevape was to sell their coils at a more fairer price maybe £3 each I'd buy a load off them. There postage is also well over priced £2.50 for second class delivery and that's if your order one coil by itself.

Hi Abyss, if you have a problem with a retailer or their products, costs and so on, you should contact them directly and then if you can't get a satisfactory answer, post in the reviews section - it's a bit unfair to post negative comments on the forum where they may not be able to read and respond - and no, I have no connections to the company in question.

Having looked at the build of these coils, I believe the price is quite competitive, and I'm afraid the P&P charge is pretty standard for posting by RM across the board ... P&P doesn't just cover the price of a stamp, but packaging, costs of getting to a post office (not everyone lives close to one) and staff costs ...

I'm making a general observation about their cost. And I have no reason to contact them.

There is also no way it would cost £2.50 to post a single coil head out. 62p for a first class stamp maybe 10p for envelope and a small jiffy bag maybe another 10p. It would cost no more than a £1 if done correctly.

I'm keen to know what the best solution for a recoil is too.

I've tried 30g kanthal to give me a 1.5ohm resistance. Fires fine, but after a few puffs the vapour production is dreadful. Could this be because I am wrapping around a 2mm drill bit?

I've also tried 1.5 resistance wire from Stealthvape but it's far too thin for my liking.

Fair enough, I realise it's expensive if you're just buying the one, but that's what they charge, so it's down to the buyer to decide whether they buy ... :P

As has been said, you could have a bash at making your own: use a kanger type head and no-res/res wire (stealthvape here or fasttech if you want to wait, and wait some more and wait some more after that).

The easiest way to explain this type of wire is that the no res wire that has no resistance so the electricity from the battery will simply flow through it with no impedance. The resisitant wire is soldered to this and slows the current down so the wire will heat up and is perfect for making the coil. There is then another piece of no-res wire soldered to this. These no-res wires make the legs of the coil. Stealthvape has this type of wire in bundles of 50pcs with different resistances available so you can make a coil of 1.5ohms upto 3.6ohms ... :read: + if you're looking to make a double coil with this type of wire, then paulymeatballs posted an excellent tutorial in the 'How To' section recently :D

It's OK thanks for the information. Do you know what the thickness of the wire is on those from Stealthvape? I want it to be thick like the Naturevape ones so I can just dry burn and change the cotton over. Thanks.
