RTA is leaking...this can't be right

my advice is easy. cut a strip of cotton, pull it through the holes, trim the edges off and tuck it in the spaces. tanks that need people to peel off layers, attack the cotton with little tweezers or comb it with a wee comb are far too much hassle imo. it should be easy. :)

I'll order myself a pack and see how I get on. Actually trying to find a local vape shop or someone living close by that can help teach me how to wick!

You've already been told this, but to reiterate. Wicking is very much like riding a bike. You can be told how to do it, but the only way to learn is practice. There will be falls along the way. Some of those falls will hurt. You can throw a tantrum and walk away, or stick at it and eventually reap the rewards. No one can learn it for you, you're going to have to do the hard work yourself. Some people find it easier than others. Some will never ride a bike. That is how life works.

I agree @hack400 . It would be so much easier and better for people if we didn't have to get filthy & wet with juice (and lose a lot of juice but not to bothered about that as I make my own predominately) each time we screw up the wicking.

Wicking is Trial and Error, some people nail it right away and others struggle, when i first started using the Profile Unity some people were having trouble getting dry hits etc, first time i nailed it, 2nd and a few times after i was having problems, now i could probably wick it in my sleep, well probably not in my sleep but you get the idea, practice does make perfect when it comes to wicking and unfortunately there is no quick way to learn, people may tell you different ways to wick correctly and although they may be different they can also all be right. It sounds strange and am sure someone can tell you what i mean, there isn't a right and wrong way of doing it. All you can do is keep trying till you get it right, and please don't decide to get a Mesh Tank until your capable and make sure your using the right juice for the right tank.

Thanks @LordOdin . I'll be having another go at wicking this evening when I get home from work. The 2.5mm shoelace was too thick for the 2.5mm coil and I really shouldn't have wicked it before thinning it out. I'll correct that mistake tonight.

In addition to what has already been said...

Get into the habit of closing off the airflow before you remove the top cap to fill.

Some RTAs with screw down top caps can pressurise the inside of the tank when you screw them down - so don't fill completely, half a tank full is much safer until you are absolutely certain the wicking is good.

When you have filled the tank vape it for several hits immediately - if it is over-pressurised after filling this will help release the internal pressure..

Your welcome @Dazzyst and really hope your sorted soon, as i said most of us have been in the same boat so know exactly how you feel. It's when you get it right the first time you get that wow factor and belief that your able to do it, even now i have issues with certain tanks but just keep trying. There is always someone here to try and help so as already said, don't worry about asking questions as we as a forum strive to help one another. Good Luck tonight.

I gave up messing with RTAs that can leak unless you are a ninja wicker years ago. The simple solution for me was only use top air input tanks.

Not to everyones taste but for me a leak free tank is vital; I hate clutching a sticky mod (no sniggering at the back please) & even a hint of a leak ruins my enjoyment.
