Unless I'm misinterpreting some post's here, it seems a few still think wearing a "mask" or more like a face covering, actually protects the wearer ! It doesn't folk's [emoji6]

Also worth noting that despite that their death rate was and remains zero.
Agreed, but they've had a 50% rise in cases in the last week and, though hopefully it will stay that way, it's a bit too early to relax entirely?

To my mind, in a vaccinated population the only metric that has any relevance is the death rate. Diagnosed cases are irrelevant if nobody is dying. Why have restrictions? We don’t have them for colds, flu, or the clap.

We don’t have Israel’s level of coverage, but the death rate here has been as good as static and the increases in risk are within populations who have refused the jab. The evidence is clear - getting the jab prevents you dying. Removal of masks didn’t increase Israel’s diagnosis rate, the new variant did, but it had zero impact on deaths.

I agree with you, but just how successful the vaccines are against the various variants is still uncharted waters? It's countries like Israel (and us) that are starting to map the territory, and it's in Israel they've just discovered the Pfizer vaccine possibly doesn't stop infections as well as they thought it did? And it takes a bit of time for infection rates to turn in to death rates.

I'm not arguing either way, FWIW, I'm not sure, I'm just kicking my way around the subject.

Don't think they should, a friend from work has just tested positive on Saturday, and i gave him a lift home Friday. Got tested Saturday and was all good! Been for another test today and waiting for the results tomorrow! I feel fine but wait for tomorrow!. but got 10 days payed off work to sit in my house :)

For me wearing a mask & social distancing ain't a problem, but what gets me is like the footie in the euros all them thousands of fans, beaches ram packed when the sun comes out, but the thing I'm bothered about the most is if they do lift the restrictions & air travel goes back to normal & the foreign students come across to do the language courses like they normally do every year in Brighton I can see covid breaking out yet again & we will be back to square one..
We might be in lockdown, pubs and the football fans is a disaster. watch the figures rocket it the next 2 weeks!!!!!....

I agree 100% with @Mawsley

If the vaccines don't work we are fucked anyway, so we might as well just get on with it. There's a lot of cancer treatments to catch up on for a start. I think we are at a point now (or maybe we were already) where we are doing more harm than good.
