Suggestions for a new vaper in need of more

I stuck the 0.5ohm plexus coil in earlier today because my wife wanted to try the straight to lung, as it turns out she didn't really find it all that great, and is quite happy to stick with what she has at the moment. BUT, strangely, rather than just swap the coils back to the 1.6ohm, I decided to leave the 0.5ohm one in and close off the air holes and mess with the wattage. After a little fiddling around, I found that keeping the air holes to just past the first, and having the wattage at 14w, the MTL experience for me is fantastic. I'm vaping 6mg nic 50/50 Blueberry Ice and OH THAT MENTHOL!! Jeus!

What I'll do is vape this over the weekend, and then swap back to the 1.6ohm and see what I find different. At the moment I'd say the 0.6ohm plexus coil is def living up to it's claim of better flavour production, but I'd probably be a lot more sure after swapping it back to the 1.6ohm. I'll prob swap back to the 1.6ohm on Sunday so will get back to you and let you know if there is a big noticeable difference :)

Glad you're having fun with this tank. It's good that you're experimenting and finding pleasing results. Look forward to your findings

You could try a restricted lung hot with a DTL setup. The coil is more robust so if you drop the wattage and restrict to air it may work for you.
Tried going as low as 10w but seems optimum (for me anyway) is around 12-15w :)

Hi Marco. Nice to meet you and enjoy vaping instead of smoking, keep at it. Just wanted to ask if you have tried nic salts as they are relatively new for mixing but give you a quicker nic hit so end up puffing less, you feel it hit your head immediately rather than the usual nic shots which can take 30 seconds or so to feel it. More like the quick nic feeling you used to get when smoking. Might make you chain vape less. Worth a try for the cost of it. In fact ask your juice supplier to do one for you with same equiv using nic salts instead, they may mix for you, and may charge you a slightly higher cost to try it, but worth asking or Just try by buying a nic salt based ejuice ready made from a make like dinner lady to feel the difference. Especially good if just quitting and you feel you need ‘more’.

Hey Dozwold, thanks for the suggestion and I'll definitely keep it in mind but even after only a couple of days vaping my new kit and using pretty much the same juices as before, I'm absolutely more satisfied with my vaping experience and not chain vaping anywhere near what I was before. I do still find that I'm hitting a little chain every now and then but I'm beginning to realise that it's not the nic I was searching for, more the flavour, and the more I'm vaping using the new mesh plexus coils (0.5ohm) the more I'm realising I'm getting the flavour and experience that is satisfying me. I did try 11mg yesterday (currently doing 6mg) and I found I was hitting palpitations, but I think I was still chaining a little yesterday, but today I've slowed right down as the plexus coil seems to have kicked right in now and absolutely fab :)
I'm going to change back to my 1.6ohm coil tomorrow to see how it compares with the 0.6ohm coil, really interested to see which one raises the flag!!

Just a quick update on my experience with the Innokin Kroma-A with Zenith Tank. Just to recap, was using the T18E for over a month or so which got me off around 20-30 fags a day, so as far as that little vape was concerned it did exactly what it was meant to do, so don't want to take anything away from that vape, but the new kit, for me, is head and shoulders above the T18E as far as ongoing vape experiences are concerned. I started with the 1.6ohm coil, great flavour, and great experience, no spitting, spilling, or anything like those little annoyances I had previously with the T18E. Was keen to try the 0.5ohm plexus coil so after a day of vaping using the 1.6ohm, swapped it for the 0.5ohm. Vaped that most of the weekend and early this morning switched back to the 1.6ohm Kanthal and the drop in satisfaction was noticeable straight away. I messed with the wattage as well as the air flow, even restricting the air flow to almost zero, just couldn't get the same level of satisfaction from the 1.6 Kanthal, but stuck with it all morning and just now I've put the 0.5 plexus back in and ahhhhhhhhhh !!! Back to satisfaction street!. I can't claim to be anything other than a novice when it comes to vaping, but I know the experiences I've had so far have been from "it works" to "ahhhhhhhh" and the plexus is definitely "ahhhh".

With the Kanthal 1.6ohm, the recommended wattage is 10W but I found today that I was down as low as 8W and as high as 12-13W just to try and get a feel for what would work but still wasn't really getting what I wanted from it. Previously, I was at 15W with the 0.5ohm Plexus which was hitting the mark (recommended 15-17W) and as soon as the Plexus coil was back in I was instantly vaping with satisfaction at 15W once again. For me, the 0.5ohm Plexus gives incredible flavour over the 1.6ohm and I've purposely been pushing the coil with spurts of chain vaping, and I've had the coil in since Friday and to be honest, the flavour just seems to be getting better, as opposed to previous experiences with the T18 which would start burning.

The plexus seems to me to be a sturdy wee coil, capable of being mistreated by a relative novice in regards to pushing the wattage initially, and levelling out nicely to give consistent, full flavoured performance. I've also had a few liquids in the tank since getting the new kit, all 6mg 50/50 and it's just ridiculous how nice it continues to taste. Even with the T18, some of the juices didn't seem to mix well.

As for direct to lung, given it is primarily a MTL tank, it's probably no surprise it didn't excite my son or son-in-law who are both DTL vapers, they both agree it was surprisingly pleasant, but wouldn't live with it any time soon, but they are a great deal more experienced in DTL than myself.

So I guess the conclusion I'm coming to here is, firstly, the Kroma-A with Zenith tank is a fantastic little kit, probably more suited to the intermediate vaper like myself, especially having came off the fags, the air restriction can be adjusted to those who can suck a golf ball through a hose pipe whilst opening it right up would be a good start for anyone looking to give DTL a shot before making the leap to another, more suitable tank/setup, and it certainly was enough to satisfy my wife than DTL wasn't what she was thinking it would be!.

Hope this novice review helps others find a more suitable and satisfying experience and if I can answer any questions about the new kit or the coils, I'll certainly do my best but for me the only unanswered question is just how long will the plexus coil last, as it's claimed it will last longer than a normal coil, but only time will tell - will obviously report back as and when I feel I've had the best from the coil but so far it's 2+ days, and counting, and only getting better in taste and experience! :)

Hello everyone, good to be here and hoping I can gain and give some advice by joining this forum, all be it my wife and I have only been vaping a few months but the learning curve has been quite something!.

So basically, we started with a BluPro to get off the fags (20+ each per day) and that lasted about a month and we then went onto an Endura T18E looking for a little more flavour and more economy with the replacement coils. This has been going well for us for the last month or so, but recently I've found myself chain vaping which pretty much kills the coils in a few days and I can't work out whether it's because I need more nicotine or it's just a natural progression for vaping (most I've spoke to do say it is likely to be the latter). We went from 18mg to 12 then 8 and currently on 6mg. I've tried going back to the stronger nicotine but it's now too harsh for my throat and I still didn't feel it was giving me the "hit" I was looking for. The battery life is also poor for my style of vaping now and what was at the beginning a great starter vape has become a chore!.

I've tried looking for another vape that will give me the battery life I think I need (2000mah+) whilst still allowing mouth to lung vaping (I can't do direct to lung, tried it and gagged!) and will provide the flavour hit I crave whilst not burning a coil per 2 days lol, but I've drawn a blank. Chances are, such a vape doesn't exist in the format I am looking for and that is a simple pen style with easy replacement coils like the T18/T22. I realise to get what I'm looking for I might need to start messing around with my own coils and cotton but if I can at all avoid that I would like to, for now anyway, so long story short, can anyone advise on what they would consider to be the most suitable MTL vape for my needs (i.e. bit of a chain vaper, need bigger battery and don't want to mess with my own coils at the moment) :)
Thanks in advance
Marko
Couple of things:
1. Coil life is improved if you vape a bit below the maximum recommended power. I use the 1.5 Ohm T18/T20 coils at around 12W and they're good for at least thirty tankfuls.

2. Harshness. If you're lacking satisfaction but don't want to increase your nic, then maybe increase the power. The Nautilus range of coils by Aspire includes a 0.7ohm which will go to 23W and it will handle fairly high VG juice (I use 70VG in mine), you may find that higher VG being inherently less harsh might enable you to up the nic a bit. There are several tanks, Aspire and other brands, that will take this coil. (But sadly not your T18)

Hey icepie, thanks for the input - my previous T18E wasn't adjustable as far as wattage went so didn't have the option to lower that but THIRTY TANKFULS!!!! I was lucky if I got 2 days from a T18E coil before tasting the burn, can't really say how many tankfuls that would have been, but absolutely nowhere near thirty, probably not even ten for me. I have found a few times that messing with the wattage on the Kroma sometimes will give me a boost, but it's something I rarely have to do if I'm honest, and with the plexus coil I've even found I can go down below even the recommended MINIMUM and still have a great vape which is something I'm exploring just now in the hope it extends the life of the coil even further :)

Yes, lowering the Watts will save the coil, but if the power is too low, the wicking can get gunked up with uncooked juice, which can lead to poor airflow, juice-in-mouth and spitting. As with all things in the wonderful world of vapology, there's no one size fits all, you just have to play around a bit until you find what works for you. :)
