Hi. Acting upon impulse I recently bought an e-cig from a supermarket, an E-lite. I mentioned it to a bloke at work who told me that they are probably rubbish and that there's this whole new thing called vaping...and so here I am :)

The e-cig I've bought seems to hit the mark (after a whle day of using it lol) but I'd be keen to try something with a bit more oomph. However, am now totally overwhelmed by information and choice.

As a total new starter who needs to be convinced about the whole vaping thing, which product would you guys recommend? Cost isn't so much the issue as ease, reliability and not having to fanny around with components a whole lot. I usually smoke handrolled golden virginia if that helps.

All advice gratefully appreciated, ta!

I haven't used either but most folks seem to like an ego battery and a vivi nova. I'm sure loads of folks will tell you why it's a good combo. If what you are using is hitting the spot then don't be in too much of a hurry-vaping can and probably will take over your life as it has for so many of us. It's growing fast and there is new stuff out all the time so it's hard to keep up :)

Ego twist or spinner with Vision Mini Vivi Nova would be my advice, the battery is variable voltage so you can play with flavour and vapour and the vivi's are the best l've tried for taste and vapour, go for the Vision ones though, they're the original and best :)

Oh and welcome to the planet. We are all very friendly and very helpful so don't be afraid to ask any questions, no matter how small or daft you may think it might be. We were all new to it once :)

I agree with dan - that's a good place to start  Just don't forgot juice too!!

I posted this the other day, and it was totally ignored, but I am lazy and don't want to type anything like it again, but if this helps, good, if not, no harm:

Here is how I went about things:

Basic ecigs, wot do look like cigarettes, I started with, and still use for outs and abouts from the pocket convenience, good power for such things:

http://jacvapour.com/all-products/starter-kits/v1p-pcc-starter-kit-998.html

Here is another example of such a product with a good rep:

http://www.ukecigstore.com/e-cigarettes/starter-kits/innokin-aio-pcc-kit

You will find that their are loads of discount codes that can be used scattered over the web, ie, for jacvapour, best one is ECR9 from http://www.e-cig-reviews.com/ for a 20% discount code. For the second link to ukecigstore wot I pasted above, there is a discount code in this very forum, belive it or not in the Discount Code page linked at the top of the forum.

A level up from these, for more power, variety, and running time would be ego style devices (or, batteries), such as http://www.vapertrain.com/product/skb, or http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-ve-r...deluxe-kit~151, or http://alba-vapours.co.uk/starter-ki...learomiser-kit, as three random examples, the last being just a tad more different, just for a wee bit more scope of variety, ignore terms like ego-c, ego-w, ego-t kits, I would personally say, half the time that is refering to the set-up a vendor is selling a starter kit as, and you do not have to purchase starter kits, they are what they say on the tin, a handy intro to that sort of kit, you easily just buy a battery or two, but, try and get one with an ego/510 connection! Most of them will have that sort of connectivity. That leaves far more scope for what you can use on your battery/device.

What you can use on ego style device: Cartomizers, clearomizers, atomisers, tank clearomisers, and other things, but, this is a good start, I'll link to an example of each:

Cartomizer: http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=120

Clearomizer: http://www.ivapour-elixir.co.uk/atom...earomizer.html

Atomizer: http://www.safercigs.co.uk/Bauway_51...3_3650420.aspx

Tank Clearomizer: http://www.leisureliquids.com/vivi nova.html

Tank clearomizers are really just clearomizers, but clearomizers as a whole can give you a range variable taste intensity, which you will find can be a very personal experience, a lot of people will swear by vivi nova tanks, as per last link above, and they look great, taste decent and are very compatible with a variety of devices, whereas, not linked to, but in my eyes better for taste, but a wee bit more leaky, would be a Kanger T3, which isn't as compatible with as wide a variety of devices, and to tell you unnecessarily finicky stuff for you right now, it would be at an ego level, and it is absolutely no effort on anybodies part to buy a 510/ego adaptor, and cheap too.

Oh, everything boils down to being an atomizer at the end of the day, apart from half of the Boge cartomizers ever made, which do f*** all. (Personal demons coming to the fore here)

At the same level as ego devices, but with a bit of a twist, would be variable voltage ego devices, meaning that you can smoke/vape your flavoured eliquid at a variety of temperatures, which can change how something tastes, and the warmth of the vape, giving the experience and added dimension, which you may be interested in experiencing, a couple more links:

http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=191

http://www.switch2-ecigs.com/Innokin_iTaste_V3_Variable_Voltage_Express_Kit_p/kititastev2t.htm

And from there you go on up to Mod devices, shuffle over to rebuidable atomizers, explore flavours and diy eliquids, and what have you, but I want to gauge out my own eyes now.

I'd say that if you want to start with an ecigalike, either link at the top of this post would do you well, and if you wanted to start with a bit more power and scope and fiddliness, plump for a vv ego device with a vivi nova, as an example.

It wasn't ignored, it was just such a comprehensive write up that there was nothing to add. Personally I hang on to every word you type, you're fantastic :)

Hello MisterGoofy I'm going to jump on the ego and ce4 route as you can get a kit very cheap and is a great introduction for anyone move from cigalikes

Ah shaddup, I mean the person I typed this for started a new thread a short while after I posted it asking for links to vendors! Argh! Not that I blame them, forums and vaping can be confusing to a newcomer, and I personally wouldn't listen to a word I say ;)
