UK Gov To Ban Disposables?

Until this whole disposable crap, I would agree. I do think it's put vaping under the spotlight again.

... and it will probably all be fine until the next fiasco. Which will probably be dildos that shoot vape up your arse or something equally headline grabbing.

the thing is, a blanket disposable ban is the solution least likely to effect anything else. and if it meets the objectives, i.e. there is significantly less waste and less children vaping (and it is by far the most likely solution to work), there will not be any rationale to ban anything else.

you can have a look in this and see the other proposals being talked about.

A ban won't work, they will still keep coming, will still be for sale....who will enforce and police it...do you think they have resources to do that....it will be ignored, just like all your tanks over 2ml, it will be as easy as that.

still keep coming from where? it’s unlikely legit shops will just continue selling black market items that have recently been banned in a huge high profile campaign. you think dealers will start selling them round the back of tesco?

there will no doubt still be some that will float about. but their numbers will be significantly reduced and they will eventually fade away. ordinary folk can’t be arsed buying black market disposables at the barras on a sunday. especially if, as some would have us believe, they are too busy and stressed to plug in a usb cable.

i do think there’s a possibility scotland might also ban fixed coil pods. but it’s maybe not likely.

You make a good point, Trading Standards have it within their remit to control the illegal sales that are currently being made and a right pigs ear they`re making of it, I`m not optimistic that they`ll do any better with an outright ban.

You make a lot of assumptions mate

From the exact places that sell them the now....America is still flooded with them, despite every new vape device requiring FDA approval, which they know would not be granted

https://www.npr.org/sections/health...rry them and, clear rules, and lax enforcement.

paper shops and petrol stations? the odd dodgy wee independent shops miby, but it will be much easier to police it. no need to distinguish between legit or illicit ones, or identify illegal sales to nippers. no need for elaborate sting operations to see if a dodgy shopkeeper will take the bait and sell a lost mary to a fourteen year old with no id.

a simple observation. you are selling illegal vapes. we will confiscate them and issue a fine.

How are they going to go into every paper shop....every online retailer....every week... your view of a blanket ban that will be rid is simplistic

Lots of legislation is introduced which can't be easily let alone fully policed so it sounds a bit of red herring to say don't introduce it if you can't.
