UK Gov To Ban Disposables?

I’ll say it til I’m blue in the face Mart - whole thing needs to be ripped up and started again. They’re so out of touch down there it’s scary and laughable.
Get respected community pillars to speak for us. Who’ve lived our lives, worked in our jobs and have plotted their own successes and know how to make a situation work for the better.
I cannot, and will not, ever respect or follow a silver spoon fed pos who bleats that they ‘work hard for the country/ people’ but are actually so far out of touch they have no idea how to push anything but their own agenda.

We are very much fucked imo.
Problem is Chris - once that working man gets a taste of power ….

the gov bodies need to be made up like juries from the gen pop and have a certain time in the job in my eyes year or two.

get rid of career politicians - coz no one who wants to be a politician should be allowed to be a politician.

It’s started.
Single use cutlery - hard agree
Laughing gas - why?
XL bullies - hard disagree. Heartless, dick move.
Disposable vapes- agree, as long as it stops there.
Looking at social media for under 16’s- it’s 2024. What’s the thought process behind that.

All unchallenged, or the challenges are muted. Biggest political power trip in the UK in a generation. What. A . Wanker.

We disagree on the XL bullies fella, having been involved recently in an attack with my dog, I would shoot every single one, there's a switch that gets flicked an no cunt knows why or how to switch it off...blaming the owners is shite, cos these cunts don't go to Church twice on a Sunday, bad people (99.99% of them) with mad dogs, not a good combo....anyhoo back to the vape:)

i can see my business going down the pan

ban on disposables

then a ban on flavours

ban on juices except for 4 types without nic

nicotine prescription only

ban on nicotine to the public and to be used in vapes

approved quit vape pod system on prescription only

ban on all open systems pods and none prescription devices

game over

Genuinely couldnt agree more Mart, especially the last part.

A position of political power should be a natural gravitation for a natural leader. Not a boss, or a manager. A leader. People that listen and act appropriately. Not people that base their decisions on how much financial sense it makes and how they can feather their own nests on the process.
You can’t have 33 year old Wibert, who left school at 16, went to college to study politics, the university to get a degree in the same thing, to go on and become a junior party member who is now a fully fledged member of parliament, tell me he knows how it feels when I can’t pay my bills because I got sacked and can’t find another job, or tell me he sympathised when I had to put my dog to sleep, or when I had to go and buy £20 a packet boxes of cigarettes because I really don’t like mint……
Because Wilbert doesn’t know how I / we feel. And never will.

I think they ban because they want to be seen to be proactive and basically it's an easy target.

If kids n eco were really their main concern there are stacks of better ways to achieve both those aims (e.g. better quality school meals and social services, investing in renewables instead of fossil fuel extraction projects, etc.)

I don't really agree with banning stuff, but I can see the appeal of it politically.
And tbh I won't be sad to see the back of disposibles.

We will have to disagree as we’re all mates and I’m done arguing on a vaping forum.
Hard agree on the psychotic owners and not being licensed for dogs in general, but saying any dog breed is by nature dangerous is cruel and naive, as is saying every one of any animal needs shooting. There is no switch. The end.
So yes, let’s get back to the vape……

25 thousand filled out the consultation form that's a joke 70% said ban

out of a population of 3.2 million vapers 25 thousand

pitiful

ohh perhaps 26 thousand people might just a piss hair might fill the new ban flavors form in..

heres hoping

Can only listen to certain types of music because Death Metal really is the work of the devil and encourages illicit behaviour.

Can only watch government approved television, because The Walking Dead is very violent and we don’t want people getting any ideas.

Can only use mobile phones with location services permanently enabled, because we absolutely have to know what you’re doing at all times.

The list is full of endless possibilities Stu. And they’ll do it too. We’ve proved we’ll suck up whatever rules they make and offer little to no resistance. Nothing to stop them.

Feel for you though, because I agree.

The ban has been brought in because votes. Gvmnt has ignored all evidence submitted and is rolling out predetermined actions.

Ban will pass, it has almost universal political support ‘because the kidz’. The only opposition will come from the far right fruitloops sponsored by Tufton St.

Flavour ban - it is mooted that flavours will be restricted to four generic profiles. Say goodbye to brands and complex juices. An argument is ongoing in the Department of Health.

Plain packaging - oh yes, a big fuck you to branding is exceptionally popular in the House of Andrea Leadsom.

Tax - to be announced in the run up to the budget - a MINIMUM of 25%

So, well done everyone who could’ve done something and didn’t. A self indulgent industry, self satisfied trade representatives, and a comatose public. And well done the Tories - what an absolutely unconservative collection of measures.
