UK Gov To Ban Disposables?

All this talk of banning disposables to protect children is complete bollox. The only people who'll comply will be all the genuinely dedicated vape shops and manufacturers while everyone else will totally ignore it the same way they do with the age restriction because they know they'll be virtually no proper enforcement.

I would certainly be pleased to see an end to the insane amount of waste from single use vapes, particularly the batteries, but then you could say the same thing about plenty of other types of unnecassary waste we produce so vapes are far from being alone on that front.

.. article from the shadowy tory stooges for big fag and the arms industry :)
Huh?
I've no idea if there is any truth in what you say about where the Adam Smith Institute, but I thought it was a well-written article and made some valid points...
not as effective as banning them though. and imposing additional tax on any vape item is not really desirable.
That's only if you believe banning them is a just or ethical thing to do (which I don't)...
.. but yes, any form of vape tax is not desirable at all (but I think we're gonna have to live with it)...

I don't think the politicians really give a shit what kids do.

Anyway, I'd definitely take paying more over a flavour ban.

i think they might be, i can’t think of any other single use disposable item for that has a rechargeable high discharge lithium battery in it. millions of them in the landfill and littering the streets every day.

In terms of batteries alone you're right but there are so many other examples of the ridiculous amounts we waste that I'd be glad to see being reduced.

As well as vape batteries I also use a lot of AA and AAA and I would rather spend £50 or a £100 on a decent charger and use rechargables rather than buy those cheap single use alkaline batteries ouf of places like poundland.

i think disposable vapes are quite a unique case as far as environmental damage.

Disposable electric toothbrush.. but they ain't as much fun as a disposable vape... ;)

does such a thing even exist?

Disposable electric toothbrush..

Course it does, you can get them from Boots, Tesco etc

these things?

i had no idea but watch the video, it’s a regular aaa battery the guy takes out of it and they say they last for three months

It does

uses a lithium battery as well

this is why my suggestion would be to ban all non rechargable items that use a lithium battery and dont have a charge port a - not just vapes - the issue is bigger than vapes, but we are kidding ourselves if we dont think disposables are a very big part of the issue.
But ban them all and at least its not vaping targetted
