UK Gov To Ban Disposables?

I filled out the original consultation and went through the results of it and came to the same conclusions as you. I also sent extracts of the consultation with my responses to my local MP. Fat lot of good that did.

Sadly as always the consultation process really is only a tick in the box exercise and its obvious from the results that their minds were made up irrespective of the findings.

Sunak is fishing for votes.

The D ban, there are strong arguments for that. Flavour bans nope, get your fucking hands off.

I still believe the D ban is not needed but as you say there are arguments for banning them. As most of us knew if banning them got through it opens the floodgates to further bans and restrictions.
I'm not aware of anything else being banned, outside of vaping, because children are doing it.
We have laws already in place that make it illegal to sell vape products to under 18's....INFORCE IT!

Is this gonna be the end of shortfills? Depends what they mean by "covered under a similar regulatory framework." If non nicotine vape liquid is treated the same as eliquid with nic then shortfills would be limited to the legal 10ml maximum size :hmm:

(In case it's not obvious), it's not just as simple as that (10ml limit), whatever flavour restrictions will presumably be applied to shortfills (and longfills, bottle shots, whatever), thereby decimating that aspect of the industry.

I find in my experience and bringing up 2 Boys and even before that. The more you restrict something the more a Child in some cases an Adult will want it or want to do it. I was the same when i was a boy. When i was a kid and there were no restrictions on buying cigarettes i don't remember many of my friends smoking in fact the ones that didn't smoke then don't smoke now.

The industry including vendors have given the Government the ammo that they are now firing at us. The vape industry is like any other business, out to make money

That does sound like a tar with the same brush kinda statement...

I would agree that the manufacturers (main brands) of disposables have been irresponsible to a large degree, especially in lack of recycling schemes, and also marketing practices, and ignoring & fuelling the fire in what was inevitably gonna come...

They don't have the means manpower to enforce the current laws, by banning they are hoping we will not be flooded, it's pure hope.

I dunno about hope, but when I want a disposable (or other banned vape product) in the future, I'll have to go to one of those stores with a naughty drawer.. or contact my local drug dealer...
