UK Gov To Ban Disposables?

You've probably had this discussion before but what gets me is I can buy a shortfill and the nicotine from the same shop and mix it there and use it but they stopped allowing the sale of it premixed

both sides of the political divide are in turmoil - during such times as has been evidenced throughout history they tend to "unite" and i use that term very loosely, behind a common enemy - in this case - vaping.

they feel it may score points with their electorate.

The downside of that .. .is there are a lot more vapers than their once was.

and im not sure they have thought through who is going to pay back all the bounce-back loans once they put all the vape companies out of business ....

Totally agree but rather than 'uniting' I think it's more of a competition between them to be the biggest savior against vaping.

The tax payer will foot the bill if they lose a few bounce back loans. Votes are a far bigger issue.

The problem is letting them go, hasn't worked else where in the world they have been banned, quite the opposite really.....fk all can be done, they have been invented and are out there and will continue to be.... they needed controlled/restricted not banned.

i’m not so sure. france approved a ban last year and other eu countries are talking about it. but i don’t think any of them are banning or restricting flavours. do you know of anywhere has specifically banned disposables then went on to restrict other vape related stuff?

I think other countries just went straight in for an all in ban...nae messin aboot...but that was not my chat it was banning will not make them go away.

maybe. like i said a bit further up, it will depend what the penalty is. but there will surely be a lot less of them, the hype will disappear and the weans will move on to something else.

I don’t even think it’s disposables that have been the catalyst in the sense of the product itself, more so where it’s sold. The corner shops give not one shiny shit whether they make money off a bag of sugar, a loaf of bread or a disposable vape. Or who they sell it to in some cases. Plus the awareness of what they’re actually selling is probably minimal, or the amount they’re prepared understand is not worth a jot. A good proportion of the reason for the surge in popularity is the ease of availability. Vapes should be sold in a vape shop to protect the integrity of the industry I think. I know you get dodgy B and M’s too, but i would rationale that the level of education of the person selling them in a vape shop is at least a little higher than a counter assistant in Spar.

But my very first vape, albeit for a few weeks, was a cigalike. A cigalike is a disposable, and I’ll bets lots on here first used one of those? I moved onto a pen type mod and tank quite quickly after visiting a vape shop, but my catalyst for swapping from cigarettes was a disposable.

They have their place in our world imo. Just not like this. But as a catalyst to help that first step, that initial swap, then I think they need to be kept. A new vaper that has just switched could well find filling a tank from a bottle too much grief to want to bother in the first place. 8 years ago, I would have. I had to learn to quite enjoy a vape instead of a smoke, and it was an e-lites that made me do that.

In other news, and not intentionally riding his pole too hard, you should read the news section. @Mawsley is putting some great pieces on there over the last few days regarding this shit.

Why should vapes only be sold in vape stores, when cigarettes are available everywhere?
That would make no sense...
