Why should vapes only be sold in vape stores, when cigarettes are available everywhere?

It wouldn’t long term. But at the moment we’ve just taken a huge backwards step and need to get some control and credibility back.
There is no control or credibility when the merchandise is displayed on the gondola end of the M and M’s aisle or next to the air fresheners in Poundland. A none entity in a shop that doesn’t sell either M and M’s or air fresheners.

My local petrol station is a de facto vape shop. Huge display on the customer side full of various disposables and a few non disposable kits. Another massive display on the counter full of Crystal disposable vapes, and the entire back wall behind the till chock full of Elf Bars, Lost Marys, and 10ml bottles of juice.

Fags hidden out of sight in a drawer under all the vapes.

Mine too. Convenient as hell if you’re caught short.
I just think it’s part of the problem. Possibly the biggest part too.

How is easy convenience to get a product to keep you off the fags "part of the problem"?

I certainly wouldn't complain if they were all kept out of sight same as tobacco products. An awful lot of kids walk past our petrol station after school and pop in for a snack and drink. I don't think they need to be confronted by sweets on their right and vapes on their left.

How is easy convenience to get a product to keep you off the fags "part of the problem"?

Because it’s in your face. It everywhere. The amount of attention they’ve garnered is the primary factor in the spotlight being shone upon them imo, they’ve dug into that, decided they can make a buck or two off the back of it and / or restrict it and point people back to tax heavy cigarettes and there you go.

There has never ever been widespread praise and education regarding vaping to the masses. The evidence is there, but it’s conflicted. Now you’ve got millions of people and a few hundred half arsed politicians who all of a sudden are aware of the pitfalls of vaping, mostly because they’ve seen twelve year olds walk out of the corner shop with one.

At this point in time I don’t think there’s any argument for making vaping more accessible and putting it on every high street corner Accessibility is easy enough with the plethora of vape shops and websites.

I wouldn't be bothered either...

In our store, we don't have much on show.. just a few examples...
We used to let people in to the main room and be surrounded by wall-to-wall products, and then Covid happened...
.. and then we just carried on keeping peeps out of the products room.. too much temptation for thievery for some...
