Unravelling the TPD, A vapers attempt to understand article 20.

Hope I don't have to sit through all 2 hours of this ... half an hour in so far ...

Excellent report from Dave Dorn ... we're in the phase now of living with the TPD, finding the best ways to implement it and work around it.
NNA seem to be bang on the money ... or rather a lack of money ... but it affirms the correctness of the approach (the so called apathy) of us vapers who refuse the protest on the 19th March.

"E-liquid
This is a big one, and one that everyone knows - No bottles over 10ml and nothing stronger than 20mg - there are other requirements too - mostly to do with purity and additives but they are for manufactureres not vapers. As far as I can tell there is NOT going to be a restriction on Nic base - It is NOT "Nicotine containing liquid" but an ingredient thereof. All the diluents etc will be covered under the same product purity regulations as juice itself but this shouldn't make a difference as we already use Pharme grade VG & PG."

Apologies if this has been covered, but...

Does this apply to 0mg liquid?

Thinking this could be sold as flavoured Vegetable Glycerin which would t need to be specifically an 'eliquid'...

Only a thought and probably be wrong, would be good if it was a get around though as you could add your own nicotine and still buy bigger bottles of juice...

How did you get that so wrong. He clearly and unequivocally states that nic base will be banned after a year to sell old stock.

Nic base is nicotine containing liquid though, is it? It contains either PG or VG.

But what I'm saying is if there is NO nicotine at all...

If there's no nicotine, there's no nic base.

Will VG sold in boots only be sold in 10ml bottles as it could be a nic base..?

I don't want confrontation or an argument about this, I asked a simple question as I didn't think it was clear..

Bottles will be sold as 10ml max, ok fair enough, does this still apply to bottles with no nicotine at all?

I'm sure you will be able to buy 10ml of 20mg nicotine solution, but 72mg 1 litre bottles will be gone, best start making space in the freezer, we will make a killing on the black market!

But what I'm saying is if there is NO nicotine at all...

0 Nic liquids won't be banned in any size as technically they aren't e-cigarette products, just various cake flavourings diluted with PG/VG.

VG on it's own is used as cough syrup and lotion for dry skin, PG is used as antibacterial wash, so won't be banned.

If it has no nicotine then of course it is not nic base so of course it is not banned.. If it is nic base and it is over 20mg strength and over10ml bottle it is banned.
Did you watch the video? I thought it was clear.

Rrrrriighhhhht ok, the penny drops!

So you'll only be able to buy 10ml bottles of nicotine, I had got it arse about face and thought you could only buy 10ml bottles of ejuice flavours!

Thank Christ for that. Thank you for clarifying that for me.. Much appreciated!

So that really means that most of this TPD thing won't really effect me if that's right.. I own all the tanks that I'll need and I suppose tanks that don't leak aren't a bad thing...

Although what happens to coils for these tanks.. I'm guessing ordering direct from China will still be ok?

I can't see a link or video to click on.. I'm on the iPhone app and apparently M missing a fair bit of content, buttons etc :0(
