Unravelling the TPD, A vapers attempt to understand article 20.

I can't see a link or video to click on.. I'm on the iPhone app and apparently M missing a fair bit of content, buttons etc :0(
I am sorry If I was abrupt.
I assumed you had watched it.
Have a watch later it will give you best possible idea of what is coming.

Rrrrriighhhhht ok, the penny drops!

So you'll only be able to buy 10ml bottles of nicotine, I had got it arse about face and thought you could only buy 10ml bottles of ejuice flavours!

Thank Christ for that. Thank you for clarifying that for me.. Much appreciated!

So that really means that most of this TPD thing won't really effect me if that's right.. I own all the tanks that I'll need and I suppose tanks that don't leak aren't a bad thing...

The raw flavourings (Capella, Flavour Apprentice, etc) aren't vape products, they are used to flavour food/drink, we just used them to flavour e-liquid so you will still be able to buy Capella Vanilla Custard V1 in whatever size bottle you want. If you want to buy Vanilla Custard e-liquid, you will only be able to buy it in 10ml bottles IF it contains nicotine.

The question remains though, will any company bother selling 0 Nic liquids?

I just worked out, if I bought/made 55ml bottle of 0 Nic liquid, which in theory shouldn't be banned, and added 10ml of 20mg nicotine solution, which also in theory shouldn't be banned, I would get 65ml of 3mg liquid. Not a bad workaround, and obviously that scales up, so 110mls of 0 nic would require 2x 10ml 20mg bottles to make 130ml of 3mg.

So people that theorised that you could buy a big bottle of 0 nic and get a "free 20mg bottle of flavour free liquid" could work.

Although what happens to coils for these tanks.. I'm guessing ordering direct from China will still be ok?

You'll still be able to buy replacement coils here in the UK or from China, whichever you choose.

These are merely spare components and wont need to be registered.

Flavourings, VG/PG bases will all still be available as they are now. Just anything containing nicotine will be severely restricted.

Well that's exactly what I was asking but got made to feel a bit stupid for daring to ask...

So to clarify:

If it contains ANY nicotine you can only buy it in 10ml bottles (which is what I thought in the first place).

You can only buy nicotine base in 20mg strength and in a max bottle size of 10ml.

There isn't any restrictions placed on 0mg bottles sizes of flavours as yet?

Sorry to be a pain in the backside with all these questions, but this is what I asked in my original post but was thrown off by being asked how I could have got it so wrong.

Thanks for your patience :0/

Thanks for the apology, it's appreciated and accepted :0) did seem a bit hostile of a response for a hippy lol

Given what we have heard from elsewhere, im not so sure hes right on that one.

I know, I saw the post saying Lubrisolve/Darkstar/whoever will be selling TPD compliant nicotine in all the usual size bottles and strengths, I just can't see it happening though. I'm more inclined to believe what Dave(?) said in the video though if he has been canvassing politicians, not that you can believe a single word that comes out of their gobs!

You are welcome, it's a long video so not everyone will have had the time to watch it yet.

Correct, the question is though, if juice manufacturers have to change the way they work and will be selling the vast majority of their stock in 10ml bottles, they may not deem it worth bothering with larger bottles of 0mg. They might go the other way though, they may go the "big bottle of 0mg and get a free 20mg sample" route to get around it, nobody knows yet.

It is quite confusing all this.. It makes me wonder if the people that have out it together are completely sure of what they are and are not banning/ restricting...

I'm definitely a bit confused by it all and don't mind admitting it... For the second time today... Fags were so much easier! Lol

Funnily enough they mentioned this in the video, apparently the rules were originally written with the idea that all e-cigarettes were just those plastic disposable fake-fags! They then had to go back and change things to match reality, which is why some of the rules seem a bit... odd...

The latter seems to be the better way for people who make it, because i know I'll get fed up of having to buy a dozen 10ml bottles a week and no doubt it will make an impact on costs somewhere along the line.. Whether that be postage or price increases on juice itself..

Gah... Pain in the arse all this. An unnecessary one at that.
