Vape Tax.. we all knew it was coming

I was also a heavy smoker. About 40 a day. That would be something like £8000 per year if I bought them in a shop but actual spend would be about half of that. I've just calculated my spend on vape juice per year. I make my own and go through about 200ml per week. Including Pg,vg, flavouring and 0.5%nic my annual spend is about £80.
I made my own juice for a while, and used RTAs, but i prefer a few good shortfills and stock vaporesso gti coils.

I'm really dreading this to be honest. Right now, once you're set up and you have all the gear, it's quite cheap to maintain vaping. Like realistically someone could vape for £7-12 a week incl coils and liquids. If they add a load of tax on etc that could go up to like £20-25 a week which for many, purely cost wise; they may as well go back to smoking tobacco.

If they put extra taxes on vape stuff I doubt it will mean that sort of increase and even if it does it would still be cheaper than around £12 for 20 fags. I mix my own juice and it costs me around a fiver for 100ml and diddly squat for coils as I make my own.

Guess you guys don't keep up with the prices... Silk Cut Purple is currently £16.35 for a 20 pack, that would make you judder. B&H are £15.86.

I was counting the fags at about £12 a pack. My £8000 is now about £11000

The prices vary greatly. But yeah Silk Cut & B&H Gold seems to be the most expensive. Don't know why, it's like smoking a tube of air with Silk cut.

it’s much less than that for me tbh.

I was taking into consideration using stock coils rather than a RDA/RTA vaper.
If a person was to go through 100ml of liquid per week with 2 nic shots & replace his coil once per week, that's roughly about £10 a week (give or take a quid or two depending on liquid type).
