Vape Tax.. we all knew it was coming

If ye can make a cup of tea ye can mix vape juice.

Indeed you can, but...

It took me years to find enough juices that I like enough to buy repeatedly and still have a variety of different flavours. I don't, and probably never will, find a flavour that I want to vape all day. I enjoy having a fridge full of different flavours that I know I like but it has taken me a long time and much trial and error to get to the stage where I can be confident of being able to find commercially made juices that I know I like easily.

Having to do the same thing with DIY really doesn't appeal. I have dabbled with DIY and have made a couple of custards and deserts that I found to be vapeable. The problem is I only like to vape custards and deserts occasionally, and in very small amounts - I generally have around 8 different DL juices on the go - 7 assorted fruit flavours and one custard/desert flavour. Generally the token custard/desert flavour lasts me at least 6 months before the bottle is empty, the fruit flavours are long gone and replaced several times before the token custard/desert bottle is finally empty. Unfortunately I didn't manage to find any DIY fruit flavour recipe that worked for me, a couple I could tolerate but I didn't enjoy them - most were pretty awful.

You can DIY, and I would if I had no other choice, but the prospect of having to would be pretty depressing.

It's a broader picture.... a tax n possible further restrictions will see more mod/atty/juice vendors/makers n the like shut up shop...we tinkerers are by far in the minority in vape land so any closure will hit us.

it was good while it lasted :)

Did anyone see the report on the news today about vaping? BBC are showing reports about illegal vapes containing spice being used by kids.

This is the kind of thing that really bothers me. I hate the kind of filth that make and sell things like this. As well is the real harm it's doing to kids, we all know the politicians won't know enough to be able to differentiate between those and normal legal vapes so we'll all end up paying the price.

I’ve had a look into this whole save the people ban type of thing

Liz truss has said she will vote against it which I would of thought correct but other mps have said the same, not because of the ban but because of the black market and one other thing it will push the point of everyone having to apply and carry ID cards to prove they are and age to make a purchase

the ID card I’m not keen on at all but the caveat of this smoke free status. is to be smoke free it’s not no one smokes it’s less than 5% of the population we are at the moment 12.5% the lowest ever so ban vaping raise the age for buying fags and tadaaa your smoke free

12 thousand people have filled the consultation form in, that’s 11 thousand angry mums and this morning watching people and say 1000 vapers

Yeah, and the kind of logic (implied by the article) that decides to restrict legal vapes in order to tackle illegal ones.. go figure...

There is absolutely no chance of them achieving their "smoke free" generation. What they mean is they might eventually make it so that no-one can LEGALLY smoke or vape. After that what we'll have left is lots of people smoking weed, people selling black market fags and vapes under the counter or from the backs of vans and dope dealers giving potentially lethal dope filled vapes and other drugs to school kids.

Absolutely! The anti brigade are just storing up problems for everyone down the line. Once all the legal stuff is gone these idiots will be yearning for their kids to have something safe and legal to try rather than leaving the field open for all the dope dealers and black market sellers to turn them all into drug addicts.

You would have thought by now people would have learned the lesson. The world will never win the war on drugs. But we can at least give people something safer and legal to use instead.

the most recent statistics estimate that 1.5% of the population smoke cannabis. so well within their 5% target even if they continue smoking it.

1.5%. that's a joke, right?

I know a few people who regularly smoke weed, including a couple who spend around £300 a week on the stuff. Not to mention all the occasional smokers who enjoy the odd spliff.

The problem with statistics about use of illegal substances is only idiots who crave attention would tick Yes in a box that asks if you have ever done anything illegal. It makes more sense to just not complete the questionnaire or have anything to do with the survey if your honest answer would be yes.
