What's new

Vape Tax.. we all knew it was coming

Shortfills don't contain nic...

Quite right but can vendors get away with saying they're not vape specific products? I'm not so sure.

PG/VG and concentrates on the other hand are a different proposition. Propylene Glycol is used in all sorts of products, as are flavourings. I'm not sure about VG but things like that will probably escape any new laws or taxes.

It's mostly all speculation at the mo but it does look like some restrictions are on the way to pander to the 'what about the children' brigade. An extra tax, unless aimed solely at disposables on environmental grounds, is nothing more than a revenue raising exercise.

When you consider the state the NHS is in these days it reminds me of the old saying 'fiddling while Rome burns'.

In Australia you need a prescription to buy nicotine. I hope it doesn't go that way here.
As for banning flavours. I don't like tobacco flavours and if that was the only thing available I'd likely just go back to smoking.
Though I'd make every effort to buy flavours from the internet from abroad. It's easy enough now to buy things that are banned under TPD, I don't see why it would be any harder when they place other things under the TDP.

Although nicotine can be addictive (and I say CAN be - as not everyone gets addicted to nicotine) - does it carry health risks - i.e. any more than say caffeine?

Nicotine is an extremely dangerous toxin to humans. It's been known to kill a 70kg person with a dose as little as 60-70mg.
At the strengths we use though and the ingestion methods, it's not dangerous. It's just addictive.

Yes - agree, but the article was implying that vaping carries its own health risks - so what are these risks??

They have went ban mental....even had a go at banning tents... tents ffs...who the fk votes for these cunts

They didn't have a go at banning tents. That's quite a strong interpretation of what was proposed. The proposal was for tents not to be given out to homeless people in an effort to reduce the amount of tents in city centres.

The kinds of people who vote for these are out of touch people who don't live in the real world though.
