Vape Tax.. we all knew it was coming

Absolutely.
So in real terms a 60% hike on a £5 10ml seems far less mean that a 220% hike on a £1 10ml.
Makes perfect sense as usual.
I see where you are coming from.
I guess they had to draw a line in the sand and, in the absence of a fully correct one, drew it where they did.
I’m surprised that they’ve given themselves 2 years to implement it though. The tide will ebb & flow many time before October ‘26 and the current line may be washed away and be replaced before then.

Yours will be at the low end of daily consumption, mine at the highest: mesh rtas, upto 60ml a day. As for how one looks at it, it's impossible not to conclude that, when combined with the proposed tobacco and vapes bill it's a decapitation - the death of vaping as was. Labour hate vaping, they always have, it's taken them a mere few months to come up with a masterplan for vaping's destruction.

We also dont yet know what they might have planned for hardware, tax wise. The likes of ecigone, who's gonna buy from them, if people cant afford to buy the liquid that goes into their purchased tanks and pods. People who mtl might be ok, but there are plenty of sub ohmers, people who dtl or even rdtl, they're gonna be fucked.
Yes, I am at the low end and feel for sub ohmers.
As you say, the duty as announced is but one aspect - Restricting flavours and taxing hardware will add another dimension 😕

There is no indication that they will tax hardware (and I think unlikely to happen).

Massive restructuring/implementation, and preparing industry for what's to come.. they can't just do it overnight...

I cant see any, there was at least some point to the tpd.
oh, I already seen one description which made me ROTFL...
here we have:
"Simply mix in 20% - 30% of this concentrate with your preferred beverage, and you'll be instantly transported to a world of indulgence. Whether it's a hot cup of coffee, a refreshing iced drink, or even a creative cocktail, this versatile concentrate effortlessly elevates any drink to new heights." in the eliquid info text

I wouldn’t have expected an immediate implementation, but 2 years sounds excessive even with the civil service’s record of slow progress.

Don't know, don't care, I have enough hardware, liquid and nic stashed to see me through for life. It's got to the point where it's every man for themselves and you just gotta make peace with it, the kids and disposable manufacturers spoilt it for us and we did nothing to stop it.

Yes, but it's not about us veteran apes and vapers, that's no more than 'I'm alright jack'. It's about future quitters, it's about peoples jobs, it's about small businesses, it's about affordability, it's about access to flavours, it's about not being criminalised because you make your own juice. Have you read the Government's consultation response, it's a horror show.

As for liquid and nic stashed, you break the new rules and regs, they could turn up and seize it all. It probably wont happen widely, but they will make examples of individuals and some businesses. Just like the tories waited 13 years to smash up the welfare state (amongst smashing up many other things), Labour have waited 14 years to smash vaping. Any government with the political will to do something can do anything, Streeting and co are on a mission, they are on a vape war footing.

You cant blame the kids, kids are just kids, what would you have done at age 13? Smoked a horrible fag, or vaped something sweet and flavoursome?
