What's new

VapeCige VTBox200

Thank you.

I commented about the centre pin to the bloke I bought it from and he was, like, all totally "What?" Fucking recessed 510 pin, what the fuck use is that?

The drip tip sits at a jaunty angle too, like the funnel of a steam ship. Combined with the poor wicking in RBA mode and the lack of stock heads I've thrown it to the back of the shelf. I can't even bring myself to inflict it on someone else.

Ah, It's actually a free floating centre pin, whip out the coil and press on the springy pin inside and the 510 will slide out, push too hard and it will hurl itself lemming like under whatever inconveniently placed immovable object it can find. I think the heads are the same as the Arctic from looking at the pictures I've seen of the two types.

I bought mine plus OEM coils from Flavour vapour...

Free floating, yep. Free to float all the way back inside the 510 threading every time it's screwed on thanks to the wank spring.

The most solidly engineered POC I've owned.

Wank spring? - Is this some kind of labour saving onanism aid?...:D

Bugger - I just realised I missed out the sarcasm qoutes around "free floating"...:banghead:

Well this little chat inspired me to take a second look at the Duplx, A KFL fill hole O-ring slipped onto the 510 has sorted the free floating problem, now the 510 doesn't do the Ouzulum bird routine and vanish up it's own jacksie, and 2 minutes with the ball engraving tool on my dremel has cured the fill holes, now just the RBA deck to sort - if thats possible...

It's the DNA200 early adopters forum, Link is on the Evolv website, the post was made By Brandon from Evolv...

You've got me all confused lol.

I was asking for a link to the correct battery on amps.com (which seems to be occupied by squatters)

I had a look the other night for amps.com,,,, didn't find anything. Also a true 100C battery is a thing that just doesn't exist, too many battery brands just stick a big number on there to make them seem better than the competition, it may well be a good battery but 100C it will not be. Not that it really matters for what we're asking of them with this mod, a 1300mAh with a true 15C would suffice though the higher true C the better it will hold its voltage under load therefore the longer it will last. If you could can you go to the page on the website for the battery you're talking about, right click and copy the address bar and paste it here in the thread for us?

In my opinion the most important thing when it comes to batteries for this mod, and any series packs for that matter, is a good quality pack that has very well matched cells. If the internal resistance of all three cells is near enough the same it will drain and charge evenly making it easier for the onboard charger, or external charger, making them much quicker to charge properly. Unbalanced cells can charge to near full charge fairly quickly but then the last part of the charge which is when most the balancing is done can take an age.

Another few points about lipo packs like this is their C rating is very temperature dependent, don't leave them in the car when it's cold and then go firing the mod at 200W, keep them warm before use. Also if you're not using the mod for more than a few days it's best not to leave them fully charged, about 3.8V per cell is best for storing them, also temperature has the opposite effect for storage, cold is better, some people store them in a fridge but be sure to keep them sealed against moisture and warm them before use.

I've not actually tried them yet but these Turnigy nano-tech 1300mAh 3S packs from HobbyKing UK warehouse should be a good match for the VTbox. Turnigy's are usually pretty good though you do get the odd rogue pack getting through QC. The main power connector would need changing on either the battery or the mod though.
