Vaping in Oz

I read your article @Tazz , didn't take long for my toes to start curling at the usual tosh they trot out, seems we're not alone over here having ignorant politicians meddling in stuff they have no clue about.

Just had a read @Tazz and as expected the usual nonsense.
It's very worrying because for the uneducated it does read like a minefield.
As we all know the disposable scene if a real problem but unfortunately this all gets lumped under the vaping banner as a whole.
Sadly this will continue to happen and just adds fuel to the ever growing fire.

Our neighbours NZ make those here look stupid in regards to vaping.
Not sure if I posted this. I met a guy a few months ago at a checkout. He got a pack of 20 cigs, $45 AUD. He said to the lady "I don't know why I spend this much, im hooked"
I said to him "mate have you tried vaping?"
He said "yeah I did last year and got some vaping pods. I got sick and had to go to hospital with a problem with my asophagus".
I asked "were they from overseas mate?"
Him, yes.
I then told him that vaping is safe, just buy from here from known shops.
He tried but because of our idiotic laws could not get a Dr to give him a script for Nic so got them on the Black Market with Nic in them. Id say nuts levels, dodgy ingredients and crap units.
Vaping in OZ needing or wanting Nic mate.

Appears it's still acceptable to smoke cigarettes, use nicotine patches and gums and sprays and lozenges containing nicotine.
I also dipped into the New Zealand vaping laws and seems to be they are also coming under fire from new legislation next month. The USA are also screwed from what I'm hearing.
For me personally I stocked up on all vaping stuff when we got hit with the TPD laws here a few years ago and will continue to do so where I can just in case the shit hits the fan here too.

Cigarettes and drugs have been around for many many years and is very well documented as to the dangers and deaths they cause across all age groups.
Vaping on the other hand is relatively new with no real evidence gathered other than the trash we hear and read.
We have to ask which of these industries make governments more income and which industry is causing a loss of revenue?
The decisions being made obviously are not focused on public health but more on revenue.

I think PHE (a major uk health body) did us a great service when they made the statement about vaping being 95% healthier than smoking. It's very quotable and set the tone in the UK. Also it focuses on the most important fact - it's far far far safer than the alternatives.

I find it incredible that health authorities see smoking as such a major health issue, then - after literally decades - along comes a way to help folk quit more easily.... and ... and .... FFS!

Today and yesterday filled out petions and and tell Govt Politicians then, today and over the last week. Last one took half an hour plus to fill out. I don't care how long but the questions were idiotic from the Govt body and got so childish im sure they were fishing for responses to frustrate and iliicet negative responses to show us vapers as idiots. I personally am sick of it, but I keep on punching for vaping. And will.
