Vaping on BBC3

Won't bother watching it then. Sounds like it would be bad for my blood pressure

I watched the 'trailer' on the news this morning. Looked like a wannabee reporter that vaped a couple of times so he could make the programme as 'a vaper'.

Do I win a prize if I managed to get to the end of it? :D

I think one thing people need to know about BBC3 is that it's basically the next step up from Cbeebies for slightly older kids and adolescents. They seem to think that filling the kids full of 'horror stories' will guide them towards turning into perfect little grown ups so they bring out this brain dead clueless idiot and send him out to apparently 'educate' himself about the "horrors" of vaping.

All he talked about was disposables. He never said one word about why smoking is so much worse and why kids shouldn't smoke. And he also didn't talk to anyone who actually has any genuine knowledge about vaping.

How ridiculous that they still fail to learn the lesson that the more you wag your finger at kids and tell them not to do something, the more likely they are to do it.

I would have thought it would be far better to teach kids that if they are determined to vape then at least teach them that not all vapes are as bad and help them get a better idea of what sort of vapes to trust and what to avoid. Then at least once all the disposables are gone they might have enough knowledge to find something better than the black market disposables which will undoubtedly fill the disposable void.

Even had one of the kids on Eastenders coughing his guts up tonight using a dis

If they called it The Truth About Illegal Vaping, and left it at that, then it would have been a good piece of tv to a young audience.

If they include Jordans test result in the study as a vaper, it will be laughed out the academic room.

I dont see any "proper vapers" rushing to make a similar but pro vaping piece and why, because we dont know what is in "legal" vape juice, we dont know the long term effects of vaping on health, so maybe we should cut this guy some slack.

I was gonna say the same kinda thing, but I think that is the perfect description!

Off-topic, but I swear BBC3 didn't start off that way...

Anyone remember Monkey Dust?
(came out 2003)

Surely the darkest satirical, very funny, actually subversive.. the sort of show that hasn't really been made before or since...

Will/ would the BBC fund & produce it?
I doubt it...

I emailed them to see if they would consider getting Clive Bates on HardTalk.. still awaiting a reply...
