As I read I the red has the USB but the brown does not ?

I only buy from UK stockists as I'm odd about these things, I KNOW it costs me more, but I do have the backup that a UK Vendor gives, so I'm happy.
I haven't had a USB version as I have zero use for it to be honest? I know many of you love your escribe etc, but I have never found any BBs wanting, so it isn't at the top of my list of requirements. Of course, I'm not saying you are wrong, it may well be that I'm missing a trick? But IF I ever want to use Temp Control, I have other Mods that would be used for those purposes so don't need to set up a BB for it etc.

I have 2 DNA's but to connect them without USB is a PITA so haven't bothered.

Not got the usb on my DNA60, but mine is quite old. I think usb version are a more recent addition.
