Ok, I'm pissed off right.
My local pub has just banned people from vaping.
So now my options are, don't go to my local, or stand in the bloody smoking cage with all the weed smokers.
I'd go in the toilet and have a few vapes in there but it's usually full of customers snorting coke, so I'd have to join the queue.
My question is, why do people keep banning vaping?
For over 50 years we've known that smoking tobacco was bad for your health and killed people but the pubs never banned fags, they waited for the government to make it a law. So why are pubs and other institutions banning them off there own bat?
I asked the manager why they're being banned and he said the pub's owners were unaware of what chemicals were being blown around the pub and were affraid of being sued later down the years.
What a croc of shit. People smoked fags in there for 50 years.

Its every locations right to not allow them.

They ban them because they are ignorant to the facts. So arm yourself with information (www.eccauk.org) and click Information. Theres some great PDF files you can print out and hand out and ask nicely for people to read and re-consider their point.

All of the studies so far indicate there is zero risk to anyone from passive Vaping.see KMS post above and here
http://www.ecita.org.uk/safety.htm

The sad truth is that we live in an age where everyone is scared of being sued. With all the anti-ecig propaganda flying about its no surprise that pubs and other businesses have this knee jerk reaction.

Frankly I'm more offended by body odour and cheap perfume.

Do what I do. Ask if its ok to vape. If it's a no, take your business elsewhere

I would have said "ok, I'll have 10 pints of that poisen you pull from them pumps, and if I have an accident, I'll sue".
problem is, we're fighting a losing battle because for every positive article on vaping (which comes 90% from underground sources, never making mainstream news), there are 10 negative articles splattered anywhere text can fit.
It doesn't help with snide politicians going behind the backs passing rules against us, and a European gov older than the fossils you find in a museum.
It's clear as day, they will fight to the end spending billions on legal stuff to make their fight win. And it boils down to it that they will lose money.
There is no other reason, so when you put money and gov together..... nuclear bombs could never separate them.

Sorry, that turned into a rant.
I just can't see us little people, or any organisation taking on and winning against mhra.

ive just got back from manchester and for the first time ever i was allowed to vape inside a club. chuffed to bits. but normally i go outside anyway , i dont like vaping anywhere i couldnt smoke. but id had a few bevvies and vaped my face off just because i could haha.

I can see every side of the arguement here, and my local, the Blue Anchor is an awesome pub, been making its own beer for hundreds of years (~one of the oldest pubs in the country to boot)
They have a massive beer garden, and thats where smokers and non smokers hangout as there are regular bands playing.
I haven't asked about vaping inside but i not concerned either way.
as has been said, it is mainly ignorance, but i am working on it as 2 regular smokers are the owners!

It must be a Regional thing, as I've stated on here before I've never been knocked back where I live or when i've been into Liverpool apart from Wetherspoons for some reason although that's no great loss because I very rarely go in there anyway!!! as said in previous posts vote with your feet and if enough people do it the landlords might have second thoughts, especially as their struggling like the rest of us!!!:hugs:
