Are You Having The Booster ?

Same really. Haven't made my mind up yet. I still keep my distance from people, especially ones I don't know. Still clean shopping as it comes in the house and still sterilise my hands on leaving shops etc.
I've got the flu jab booked for the second week in December but I'm still not 100% sure whether or not I'll have it.

Same. Still wipe everything, hand sanitizer, hands washed as soon as get home. Don't touch my face or personal objects if I've been touching the same things as the unclean, until my hands are washed. Can no longer be arsed cleaning trolleys or baskets before using them so I don't use them, just grab carrier bags and shopping goes straight in.

They both get flu jabs too. Never had one and never had the flu in my life.

Distance is magical. Even if they get rid of Covid completely I'll still just keep swatting people away.

We'll never get rid of it then, obviously herd immunity isn't going to be a thing? jabbed for the rest of our lives, and what about the poor countries where only a few percent have even had or been offered a first jab, or offered nothing at all.

Pretty sure the top minds have already come out and said herd immunity is no longer a real possibility some time back? Herd immunity doesn't really work as wanted when vaccinated people can also carry and pass a virus regardless of whether they themselves suffer symptomatically or asymptomatically.

Vaccines alone will not be enough. That was said through a blowhorn by many at the beginning. Gov didn't listen, and they're still not.

Imho

Me and my wife had our booster today, yes it's a pain in the arse traveling to Brighton then waiting almost an hour but this virus is going nowhere fast, I had my booster because I'm in the high risk group because of my COPD & I don't fancy ending up in hospital & if this means going through this faff again in 6 months time then so be it.
Yup, I'd noticed in another thread that you'd had it. It makes sense if you've got a medical condition that could make it worse. I've only got vestibular ocular reflex , a dodgy back and tendinitis in my elbow. I don't think they count. :D

No idea why it's called a vaccine, time and time again people get jabbed then get covid, what sort of vaccine is that then, where you can still catch covid and transmit it?

It's the first real attempt at a coronavirus vaccine. They didn't know how well it would work. Viruses are crafty little buggers. What they did in the time they did it was truly remarkable. Only made possible because they were expecting the next virus at some point and plans were already in the wings. The vaccines have saved many lives and are a real achievement. And that will be built on in the years to follow. Imho.

Wondered that myself. As far as I can understand its MRNA and not a "true" vaccine.

The Oxford vaccine is not mRNA.

It's DNA inside a chimpanzee Adenovirus.
No, that one is DNA based which is probably why the conspiracy nuts are freaking out saying it'll turn you into the creature from the black lagoon.

Might be worth a 3rd jab after all. Won't have to swat at people, they'll just run! :D

Like most, I don't like being told what to do but I'll take the booster as soon as I'm illegible, I just think it's the right thing to do.
For those reluctant to get it because of what they perceive to be bullying, would you be happier to get it if it was just a suggestion? If so, then I can't see the problem, make your own minds up to do what you think is right. Regardless of what the suits try to tell you [emoji16]
Are your PM's full?
