I picked up a CE5 on a whim once, where the short bit of wick was hidden in the center post, and it provided decent flavour as far as I recall. If it works for you, you don't have to try anything else.
I prefer the taste and performance I can get out of my rebuildables, and I will use cartos for convenient pocketability (And I don't mind the carto experience in its own right).
