As JohnnyAce said, the insert won't melt when vaping at mtl wattages with airflow going over the coil.
It's only if / when pulsing the coil while building that you need to be aware of it.
I think it mentions this on the leaflet that comes with the tank?

You know what. I kicked the arse out of the bskr rda and skyline rta, both of which had plastic inserts and not once did I remove them. Never had any melting.That's insane. What a PITA.
And tbh, who actually reads the leaflet?
